While it is not yet clear whether the next version of Android will be 2.4 or 4.0, what is clear is that it will be called Ice Cream Sandwich and that it will be a hybrid system for tablets and next- generation smartphones. Today thanks to the colleagues of Engadget, we have been able to take a look at what the next Google platform could look like. And to tell the truth, things look very good.
The demonstration is done with a Google Nexus S, how could it be less. The unlocking screen is very reminiscent in design and functionality of Android 3.0 Honeycomb, with that small sphere that you have to drag to the edges of the circumference that surrounds it so that we can start using the terminal.
Once we unlock the phone, the home desktop is very similar to previous versions of Android for mobile. That 's right: with the layer designed for mobile head of the firm of Mountain View. It is interesting to see that a section for multitasking management has been incorporated that, by pressing the capacitive start button for a couple of seconds, launches something similar (if not the same) as the miniapps that can be seen in Honeycomb.

On the other hand, when we activate the application panel view, another point that seems to be included in Ice Cream Sandwich would be the option to activate floating windows ( widgets ) from a secondary options box, which we would find in a tab within the quoted application panel. In this way, we would have all the widgets available at a glance, instead of having to install them as they have to be done until now (from the desktop).
