The sophisticated capabilities of the new high-end mobile phones are forcing manufacturers to incorporate larger batteries and different features to save energy. This year Samsung plans to launch a new phone with a curved screen, Galaxy S7 Edge, which will be unveiled alongside the standard version on February 21 in Barcelona. Unlike last year's model, the new Galaxy S7 Edge would have a battery of no more and no less than 3,600 mAh, a capacity that would position it well ahead of other rival phones.
The information has been discovered by the SamMobile medium on the website of the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC). In the capture you can see that the battery of the Galaxy S7 Edge would be 3,600mAh, an increase of 38 percent in capacity compared to what the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge equipped last year, which we remember is 2,600mAh. Although this increase in capacity has not yet been confirmed by Samsung itselfIt would not take long to become official, only thirteen days. Everything indicates that this new battery, like that of its older brother, could be charged wirelessly. In addition, it would have an extra fast charge function that will allow a full charge in just 2 hours and 20 minutes.
The 3,600 mAh battery would not be the only big news that would be included in the new device with a curved screen from Samsung. This year it is expected to arrive with a slightly renewed design, in which the edges would curve slightly more than those of the previous generation and other features would be added such as a new function called " Always on Display ", which would allow to keep the screen on without barely spend battery. For its part, the panel would grow slightly to 5.5 inches and the resolution would be QHD.
As far as the processor is concerned, this year Samsung would again turn to Qualcomm and launch a version with the new Snapdragon 820 SoC , which is no longer expected to suffer from the fearsome overheating problems of the previous model. There would also be a version with the Exynos 8890 chip, better known as M1. In both cases the RAM memory would be set at 4GB, a pretty good figure to move heavy graphics applications or perform several processes simultaneously.
The leaks also suggest that there would be changes in the photographic section. Both the Galaxy S7 Edge and the Galaxy S7 would mount a 12 megapixel resolution camera (somewhat lower than last year), to which larger pixels would have been added to be able to capture higher quality images. The two new phones would also equip a MicroSD- type card slot, which would allow expanding the storage capacity, in addition to a new USB type-C port, very useful for transferring files and data more quickly. The die is cast and Samsung will show its new creations at the doors of the Mobile World Congresson February 21. Of course we will be there to inform you of all the news instantly.
