We already anticipated it at the beginning of April: numerous rumors suggested that Amazon was working on its own smartphone. The most recent information in relation to this new mobile has not only allowed us to get an idea of what it will look like, but has also revealed that the name of this device could be " Amazon Kindle Phone ". The filtered image of the Amazon Kindle Phone shows a mobile -with a conventional appearance- that incorporates the logo corresponding to Amazon on the back cover.
Now, this leaked image neither confirms nor denies one of the most anticipated technical specifications of the Amazon mobile: viewing content in three dimensions. Numerous sources have indicated that this smartphone will incorporate a technology that will adapt the content of the screen to the user's viewing angle, thus offering an image with a 3D effect. This technology will be possible thanks to four small cameras, located on the front of the mobile, which will be in charge of following at all times both the movement of the user's eyes and the viewing angle of the screen.
The technical specifications that could come incorporated as standard on the smartphone of Amazon are summarized on a screen of 4.7 inches with a resolution of 720 pixels, a processor of four cores and a memory RAM of 2 gigabytes. The operating system installed as standard, how could it be otherwise, will correspond to Android in a version that we still do not know.
On the other hand, another of the strong assets of this terminal could be its price, which would be affordable for all pockets without leading to giving up good specifications. What Amazon seems to be looking for with this mobile is to create another best-seller at the height of the Kindle e-book reader.
Even so, it should be noted that the little information published in relation to this new smartphone comes solely and exclusively from rumors and extra-official leaks. Therefore, we cannot take any data that we receive as one hundred percent true until an official confirmation from Amazon appears. And if we go back to the rumors, we will see that this smartphone could still take several months to be officially presented (some sources even speak of a date close to summer).
Taking a look at the strong competition that currently exists in the world of mobile telephony, the truth is that it is difficult to predict the success that this terminal may have. We are talking about a market in which companies like Samsung, Sony, Nokia and Apple - among many others - invest hundreds of millions of euros each year. Of course, Amazon also has a great starting advantage: a database with millions of customers interested in technology products and its own distribution system.
