Orange presents the new touch tablet that it will offer to both new customers and current users of the operator. Its name is Orange Tahiti and it has a screen size of seven inches; all kinds of connections and you can get them for a price that starts at 70 euros. What's more, the French-born operator offers Orange Tahiti both permanently and without it. But let's see below what are their prices and associated fees.
First, Orange is one of the few operators in the market that still offers subsidized terminals to new customers. That is why the consumer will be able to find this touch tablet associated with two mobile Internet rates. The first of them is known as Internet Everywhere 39 —with a monthly fee of 40 euros and five GigaBytes of traffic at maximum speed— with which Orange Tahiti will cost 70 euros.
On the other hand, if you prefer a more comfortable and affordable fee to pay, there is also the rate known as Internet Everywhere 23 —25 euros per month with a GigaByte of traffic at 3G speed— with which the amount to be paid for the equipment will rise up to the 210 euros. The client must also bear in mind that with both rates - and in order to pay both amounts - a 24-month permanence contract must be signed.
On the other hand, if you do not want to have a contract, Orange also offers its new tablet for a price of 330 euros and it can be associated with both Everywhere rates. Of course, the user can leave the company or the rate at any time. In addition, another of the interesting options proposed is the SmartSIM, a service for current customers who use a Delfín rate on their advanced mobile phone - combining calls and data - and who want to share their current data voucher with another team thanks to a second SIM card with the same number and that will only increase the monthly fee by three euros.
Finally, customers who want to renew their terminal or simply want to exchange their accumulated points in the operator's specific program, will be able to access Orange Tahiti from 120 euros.
Technical characteristics
The screen size that the Orange Tahiti achieves is seven inches offering an HD image resolution (1,280 x 800 pixels). The panel is multi-touch, so it will recognize natural gestures on it. On the other hand, inside there is a dual-core processor with a working frequency of 1.2 GHz to which a one GB RAM memory will have to be added.
Meanwhile, the operating system Orange Tahiti uses is Google's Android. The latest version known as Android 4.0 has not been installed, but this team has been left with Android 3.2 or Android Honeycomb, the specific version for tablets.
It has two cameras: a front of 1.3 Megapixels to make video calls and a rear five - megapixel camera with the ability to record HD video at up to 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. In addition, thanks to the HDMI output that is offered on one of its sides, it will be possible to see all the content on a larger screen such as a compatible television or monitor.
As far as storage is concerned, Orange Tahiti has a memory of eight GigaBytes and supports MicroSD cards of up to 32 GB, whose slot is located at the back of the chassis and that, opening the compartment not only reveals the slot for memory cards, but also the slot for inserting SIM cards is offered. Therefore, in addition to being able to browse Internet pages through high-speed Wi-Fi hotspots, it will also be possible to use the latest generation 3.5G mobile networks.
