No apparent design changes
The age difference between the original Oppo Reno and the second iteration has made Oppo have decided to implement the same design presented during the month of April. Same body made of glass and aluminum and same retractable camera mechanism in the shape of a shark fin.
As with the first iteration of the terminal, the fingerprint sensor is located under the panel, a 6.5-inch panel with Full HD + resolution and AMOLED technology. As for the rear, the only difference from the first version is based on the number of cameras: up to four in total.
Hardware: better processor and more RAM
One of the most recurring criticisms that the Oppo Reno obtained after its presentation was based precisely on the technical section for integrating a Snapdragon 710 processor. The manufacturer has taken note and updated the Qualcomm model for a gaming-oriented Snapdragon 730G.
Along with this, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage expandable up to 256 GB. The rest of the features are maintained with respect to the homologous model: NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band WiFi… The battery, of course, grows up to 4,000 mAh, and the fast charging system is based on the VOOC 3.0 standard of the same company.
20x zoom and four cameras for the mid-range
The main difference between the Oppo Reno and the Reno 10x Zoom starts from the photographic section. The new generation matches the quality of the cameras against the high-end model with four 48, 5, 13 and 2 megapixel cameras with wide-angle and telephoto lenses.
Beyond the number of cameras, the main evolution is found in the 20x zoom that the telephoto sensor is capable of offering. A zoom that reaches up to 5x if we talk about hybrid technology, since the 20x zoom is digital. A 2 megapixel sensor is also integrated to improve the depth of photography in portrait mode.
As for the front camera, we again find a 16-megapixel sensor with f / 2.0 aperture. The novelty comes in its compatibility with the portrait mode of the Camera app.
Oppo Reno2 price and availability
Like the original Oppo Reno, the Reno2 comes at a price that is about 460 euros. At the moment the date of departure of the device in Spain is unknown, although everything indicates that it will not be until the end of the year.
And what about the Oppo Reno2 F and 2 Z? Both models arrive with a Mediatek Helio P70 and P90 processor respectively, and the camera configuration leaves us with resolutions of 48, 8 2 and 2 megapixels. The price of the Reno2 Z comes for 360 euros to change. Unfortunately, Oppo has not given many details about the Reno2 F.
