Where is the front camera?
Oppo has done it again. The Oppo Find X was one of the first phones with a sliding screen to hide the front camera. This time the manufacturer has opted for a camera that is hidden in the upper frame of the device. It is a retractable system that leaves the sensor slightly heeled to the right, but frees the screen.
This way, again, the front is all real screen. Specifically, the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom has a 6.6-inch AMOLED panel that offers a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels. It has a maximum brightness of 430 nits, 60000: 1 contrast and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6.
As for the rest of the design, it combines glass on the back with an aluminum frame. The camera system is positioned in the center of the rear, occupying the entire upper part. And we have the fingerprint reader located in the front position, under the screen.
The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is a large terminal. Its full dimensions are 162 x 77.2 x 9.3 mm, with a weight of 210 grams. It stands out, of course, its thickness. And is that the camera needs its space to be placed within the frame. But this has a good part, and that is that the rear camera does not protrude anything from the housing.
Triple rear camera with 10x zoom
The name of the terminal leaves no room for doubt. The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is the first terminal of the Chinese manufacturer to equip the 10x zoom that we have talked so much about.
The rear photographic set consists of a Sony IMX586 sensor with 48 megapixels of resolution and f / 1.7 aperture. This one features a 6P lens, closed-loop motor, pixel aggregation technology, and optical image stabilization (OIS).
It is accompanied by a telephoto lens with 13 megapixels of resolution, f / 3.0 aperture and anti-shake prism. This achieves a spectacular 10x hybrid optical zoom, which translates into a focal length of 16-160mm.
We lack a third 120º super wide-angle sensor with 8 megapixels of resolution and f / 2.2 aperture. The combination of all three offers dual OIS optical image stabilization, shake, and smart detection correction.
On the front we have an 80º wide-angle sensor with 16 megapixels of resolution and f / 2.0 aperture. This camera has the possibility of shooting in HDR, beauty function with AI, facial recognition and frontal portrait.
But the most striking thing is its design, since it has a lateral elevation system that makes the camera appear only when it is necessary. The upload process is automatic and the camera takes 0.8 seconds to appear.
For the rest, we have video recording with 4K resolution at 60fps, Full HD slow motion up to 240 fps and a hybrid anti-shake system for video.
Technical set to match
Inside the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom we find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. This is accompanied by 6 or 8 GB of RAM, depending on the version. Storage is handled by a UFS 2.1 drive that can be 128GB or 256GB.
To keep so much power under control, the terminal has a triple heat dissipation system. It uses thermal gel, three-layer graphite and copper tubes to control the temperature of the mobile. Liquid cooling technology reduces temperature rise by up to 13%. This is also where the AI system comes into play, which quickly predicts and freezes the apps we are not using to save energy and control the temperature.
It also has a 4,065 milliamp battery, which offers VOOC 3.0 fast charge technology. On the other hand, the terminal has Dolby Atmos sound and is compatible with Hi-Res audio.
And in terms of connectivity, it is equipped with the latest on the market. It has Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band 802.11ac WiFi, and a USB Type-C connector for charging. It also has NFC, which will allow us to use it for mobile payments.
