O2, Telefonica's Low Cost operator, lowers the price of its fiber and mobile package in regulated areas. The company has a single convergent tariff of 100 MB of Fiber and 20 GB of mobile with unlimited calls. The price is 45 euros. However, in regulated areas the price rises, with a difference of 13 euros. The operator has decided to lower the price.
The monthly fee will be lowered from 58 to 50 euros for all those users who have contracted the rate in adjustable areas. Therefore, the difference between the normal rate that applies to the main cities is 5 euros instead of 13. The package costs 45 euros. Pedro Serrahima, director of O2, said in an interview with El País that 40 percent of users are in adjustable zones.
The adjustable zones are those in which there is not so much competition from operators. The National Commission of Markets and Competition (CNMC) regulates these areas and obliges to establish a price to guarantee that the operator can offer services under the same conditions. When is the discount applied?
The new rate will apply to all O2 customers, the company was going to apply it from February 18, however, the price will drop from today. the invoice will arrive with 8 euros less. On its website you can also hire the package for 50 euros. If you are a client in a regulated area, you will receive an email informing you of the price drop.
