During the past Mobile World Congress 2012, the Taiwanese firm HTC presented its arguments to gain a piece of the smartphone market. There were three terminals that it showed as part of its competitive strategy, all registered in the so-called One family: we are talking about the HTC One X, HTC One S and HTC One V, terminals that, thus exposed, come to be shown as mobile phones that go from higher to lower power, performance and price. Given this, one might think that the Asian company would use the designation One to refer to its new smart phones equipped withAndroid operating system. But according to the information that we know through GSMArena, it seems that it will not be like that.
And it is that as mentioned in this website, from HTC Portugal they would have revealed a new entry phone with a surname that is more than familiar to us. We are talking about the HTC Desire C, a device that despite having the name that is known to two of the most attractive devices from the past portfolios of the Taiwanese, this time converges to a greater extent with the spirit of the HTC Wildfire.
We say this because, judging by the benefits that this terminal has known, we would find ourselves before a mid-range mobile that would have a balanced, solvent but limited technical profile, and in its price, its most attractive weapons in the face of pretending to be the company's new best seller.
But let's go in parts. Among the benefits that have been known from the HTC Desire C, two should be highlighted. On the one hand, the processor develops a 600 MHz clock frequency "" although it is not specified whether it is a one or two core processor, despite the fact that the absence of clarification invites us to think in the first direction ""; on the other, the HTC Desire C will equip Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Considering both data, it would be necessary to remember the Sony Xperia Tapioca, another mobile that develops the profile of an entry mobile with the most advanced version of the Google system. With this, we could think that throughout the second half of the year we would know more terminals that bet on this platform without having to show off extremely powerful technical staff.
Regarding the rest of the features that this HTC Desire C will carry, I would have to talk about its screen. The terminal will be spent within one panel of 3.5 inches with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels "" and once again we have in mind the Xperia Tapioca "" as well as a five megapixel camera that does not integrate an LED flash. It would also have an internal memory of four GB, and its connections would not leave out the regulatory Wi-Fi sensor or A-GPS compatibility, as well as access to 3G mobile Internet networks. We also know that it will carry a 1,230 milliamp battery.
The release date is anyone's guess. From HTC Portugal they are limited to a laconic and little revealing "soon", with what could be one of the devices that the company puts into circulation during this month of May as part of the competition that would be maintained with the mobiles that Samsung could launch in this line "" although equipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread "". From what it seems that there will be no doubt is that the price of the HTC Desire C would be below 200 euros.
