Render of the Samsung Galaxy A8S.
Samsung is preparing its first all-screen mobile with a hole in the panel for the front camera. We first heard about the Galaxy A8s when Samsung introduced it at their developer conference, where they claimed it was going to be the first 'Infitny-o' device. That is, with an infinite screen and a rounded hole inside the panel. Little by little we continue to know details of this device that could be launched during the beginning of 2019. We have already seen its design in some readers and other filtered features. Now more data is revealed after his arrest by the FCC.
The terminal has been certified by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) with the model number SM-G8870. Although it is true that after this step not much data has emerged, we have been able to see a screenshot that reveals the location of the hole for the camera. Everything indicates that it will be located on the right side and just above the notification panel so as not to interrupt the content of the application. As we can see in the following screenshot, supposedly from the Galaxy A8s, the notification icons are slightly displaced towards the center, leaving a gap on the side. Other details shown in the screenshot is that the interface will continue to be very similar to what we see now in other terminals.
With another aspect ratio on screen
Also, the Samsung Galaxy A8s could have a higher aspect ratio than Samsung's handsets. The Galaxy Note 9 or Galaxy S9 have a ratio of 18.5: 9, while this Galaxy A8s would have 19.5: 9. The size of the panel is unknown.
It is still not clear if this mobile will be the first to hit the market with a hole in the screen, since Huawei is also preparing a device that will supposedly be presented during the month of December. Be that as it may, we can guess that this full-screen mechanism could hit the high-end very soon.
