On September 5, Nokia has convened media, partners and distributors in Helsinki, where it will present its new products for next year. It is Nokia World 2012, the annual event in which the Finnish manufacturer presents its new steps to follow and that this year comes with a special sensitivity.
This is the time to take stock of the first year of marriage with Microsoft and, of course, to reissue the votes with the launch of the second generation of Nokia Lumia mobile phones. In this sense, the blogger Eldar Murtazin would have revealed new details of what would be the high-end for the new batch of mobile phones from the Finnish firm with the platform developed by those from Redmond.
In this sense, the terminal would correspond to one of the panels that was leaked last week, and which proposed the option of a large-format device to crown the continuation in the Lumia family. Specifically, we would talk about a 4.7-inch screen, which, as already stated, would exploit one of the new features of Windows Phone 8: support for high-definition resolutions, with which we would come across an electronic canvas of 1,280 x 720 pixels.
But the thing would not end there. According to Murtazin, the device would have a code name that would respond to Nokia Phi. However, it is unknown whether this name would end up being the one that would be planted as a trademark or if it is just a way of knowing the device internally, finally adopting a title that combines the designation of the Nokia Lumia family with a number that place within the progression that already make up the four current terminals.
The Russian blogger has also referred to the screen of this mobile, alluding to an OLED panel that, he says, will be the best thing that the Finnish manufacturer has installed on its devices. The design, for its part, would play to maintain a continuation line with respect to what was seen in the current Nokia Lumia 800 and Nokia Lumia 900, although sharpening its thickness to achieve an even thinner appearance.
On the other hand, it is also beginning to speculate with the launch price that this device would reach. And the advance is not at all flattering. According to Murtazin, the Nokia Phi could cost in free format "" that is, without anchoring to operators "" no less than $ 930, which amounts to about 740 euros at the current exchange rate. According to the fact that it would be Nokia's top of the range, although it would be an exorbitant price, in case it is finally as the aforementioned source maintains.
And it is that the competition to beat would be debated between 540 euros "" which is what the Samsung Galaxy S3 can cost in its 16 GB version and white casing "" and the 600 euros "" that it is estimated to cost the i Phone 5 in its most economical edition, following in the wake of what was seen in previous editions ””. It is true that Nokia has been competitive in performance and design with its Lumia terminals for a year now, although this, however, does not detract from the fact that the market can be seduced, and a lot, by targeting the wallet.
