South Korean company Samsung may be interested in launching a phone with an all-metal casing next year. In recent weeks there has been a lot of talk about the Galaxy S5 and its respective case, and many of the recent rumors suggested that said terminal would incorporate a metal case. A few days after this case was discussed, the rumor was practically disproved with the news that the Galaxy S5 might not have a metal case.
Meanwhile, a new terminal called Galaxy F has appeared on the network. This smartphone would be an alternative version of the Samsung Galaxy S5 that would offer a feature that is highly demanded by users: a metal casing. The Galaxy F would correspond to a "premium" edition of the Galaxy range that could even be above the Galaxy S5 in terms of specifications, as the Korean newspaper ETNews has announced. In fact, rumors suggest that this terminal already has a prototype made in Europe, which leads to think that Samsungcould present this smartphone practically at the same time as the new Galaxy S5.
Galaxy F, Galaxy S5 … really, what does Samsung have in mind for this coming year 2014? If these rumors were true, everything would point to the South Korean company seeking to meet all the demands of its users. Many have been the people who have expressed their discomfort with the plastic casings of the high-end phones of the Galaxy series. The problem is that Samsung cannot make its new Galaxy S5with a metal casing since that would raise the price of the phone in stores, something that probably would not please any fan of the company. That is why the option of manufacturing an independent phone with a metal casing seems the most likely, since in the event that someone wanted this feature, they would simply have to pay the difference that the change from one material to another implies. As there is an increase in price, the terminal with a metal housing would probably also include some higher specification to justify its sale to users.
Even so, it must be clarified that these rumors do not come from any official Samsung source, but rather data that is being released from the Korean factories in charge of the production of these terminals. To receive any official data, you will have to wait at least for one of the two major technology and mobile telephony fairs that will take place this year 2014. The first of these fairs is CES 2014, a technology event that takes place in Las Vegas from January 7th until the 10th of the same month. The second event is the MWC (Mobile World Congress), a mobile-oriented fair held in Barcelona from the 25th to the 28th of February.
