The technology of smart phones need a new change. It is no longer enough to take a bigger screen or improve the resolution; users increasingly demand more novelties in the high-end mobiles that are coming to the market, mainly motivated by the high price that these terminals usually have in their launches. And from what we have just learned from a new Samsung patent, this South Korean company could be working on a new mobile with a folding screen that could be tilted up to 180ยบ, thus allowing the user to fold the mobile practically in half.
Although the patent shows a design that we have already talked about on previous occasions (specifically in another rumor related to Samsung), it is interesting to know that large manufacturers are becoming more and more interested in flexible screens and folding screens. The patent that has leaked this time was created by Samsung in the month of February this year, but it was not until this week when the Office of US Patent (US Patent and Trademark Office) has made official designs that have been leaked this time.
The patent reveals that Samsung's folding phone can have different applications depending on the position it takes. For example, if we fold the mobile and rest it with the screen facing out on a table, we can use it as if it were a clock (with the time, date and other useful data that we could view without having to lift the mobile). On the other hand, if we decide to fold the mobile inwards, the advantage that we would find is that the terminal would occupy half the space so that we could carry it comfortably in any pocket.
To this day, it is still too early to speak with certainty about the advantages and disadvantages of this folding screen technology, but what seems to be clear is that in a few years we will begin to witness a new revolution in the world of mobile telephony. which will most likely be similar to the change between mobile phones with a physical keyboard and mobile phones with a virtual keyboard. For now, the only thing that is one hundred percent confirmed is that during the month of September we will attend the official presentation of several Samsung news: one of them will be the Samsung Galaxy Note 4(whose technical specifications have already been leaked), while another novelty could be the presentation of virtual reality glasses that would work exclusively with the Galaxy Note 4 and allow you to enjoy video games and movies with the mobile phone attached to the glasses. These presentations will take place at the IFA 2014, a technology event held in the city of Berlin (Germany) between days 5 and 10 September.
