With the launch of Android 9 we have our full attention on this new version of the system. However, the truth is that many current mobiles have not yet received Android 8.0. This is the case with some Samsung devices, which are still waiting to receive their share of Oreo. On this, today we learned that the South Korean could delay the publication of the update of this version in some of its mid-range and low-cost equipment until 2019.
A new leaked roadmap with Android 8 updates for Samsung devices has revealed that we will still have to wait until 2019 to see how a large part of them are updated. Among some of these models we can mention the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro, Galaxy C7 Pro, Galaxy A9 Pro, Galaxy J2 (2018), Galaxy Tab A (2017) and Galaxy On5 (2016). All of these would be updated in January of next year. The worst part could be taken by the owners of the Galaxy J7 Max and Galaxy J7 (2016), who would have to wait until March 2019 to receive Oreo on their devices.
In this roadmap we see how models that apparently were not going to receive Oreo could end up doing so. For example, the Galaxy J7 (2016), which would be its second big update. It should be noted that Samsung only offers one major update for its entry-level phones, so if this is true, it would be a notable change in company policy. However, Samsung has mentioned that some devices may not get the update if they are not suitable for running the latest version of Android, so it is best not to get too much hope in this regard.
Also, since these roadmaps vary by country, Oreo could arrive much earlier for some of the devices on the list. In any case, the company has a long work to do, as Android 9 Pie has been officially released. This means that many of its models will begin to receive Android 8 when others are already working under the orders of the new version of the platform.
