We do not know if they make much sense or not, but manufacturers continue to insist on launching "gaming mobiles". One of the latest to arrive is the Nubia Red Magic 3, which improves on screen, power and cooling to its predecessor. In addition to a fairly aggressive design, the new Nubian mobile sports a 6.65-inch screen and has a Snapdragon 855 processor inside. It is equipped with up to 12 GB of RAM, up to 256 GB of storage and a huge battery of 5,000 milliamps. Let's get to know its characteristics better.
Says NO to the notch on the screen
Nubia keeps “passing” notches, holes or drops on the screen to place the front camera. Instead they have tried to fully adjust the front frames. But the truth is that they are still very present. It actually makes sense since symmetry is important to a player.
Thus, we have a design very similar to that of previous models of the manufacturer. Even so, the new Nubia Red Magic 3 is a bit larger and has a new ventilation system whose grilles are visible on the mobile chassis.
For the rest, the rear has an LED lighting strip just below the fingerprint sensor. This is hexagonal in shape, just like the camera module. We also have two V-shaped mesh areas that give this model a very characteristic design.
As for the front design, we have a 6.65-inch Super AMOLED screen with a FHD + resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels. This, as we mentioned at the beginning, is framed in fine frames for a better gaming experience.
Advanced ventilation system
And precisely this new ventilation system is one of the great novelties of the terminal. The ventilation system of the Nubia Red Magic 3 is more similar to that of a PC than that of a mobile. It has a fan made of an extremely light nanomaterial. It runs at 14,000 rpm and consumes very little power. According to Nubia, this fan has a useful life of about 30,000 hours, so it should last almost longer than the mobile.
The fan is supported by a liquid-cooled copper tube to maintain the temperature inside. In addition, it has a ventilation grille for air to enter and another for hot air to escape. The first has been placed at the rear, just below the camera. The second is on the side of the terminal.
Plenty of power to run any game
If something cannot be missing in a gaming mobile, it is power. The Nubia Red Magic 3 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. This is accompanied by up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage.
It also has a huge 5,000 milliamp battery with a 27W fast charge. This offers us an hour of play in just 10 minutes of loading. The technical set is completed by a 48 megapixel Sony IMX586 single sensor rear camera. According to Nubia, the camera offers 8K recording and slow motion recording at nothing less than 1920 fps. On the other hand, the front camera sports a 16 megapixel sensor with f / 2.0 aperture.
As for the audio, very important for gamers, it includes a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack. It also has DTS 7.1 sound and stereo speakers with 3D surround sound.
Price and availability
The Nubia Red Magic 3 will go on sale in China on May 3. It will arrive in four different colors: red, black, camo, and a new red-blue gradient color. There will also be four variants of the mobile that can be purchased:
- 6 GB of RAM + 128 GB of storage with a price of 3,200 yuan (about 425 euros)
- 8 GB of RAM + 128 GB of storage with a price of 3,500 yuan (about 465 euros)
- 12 GB of RAM + 256 GB of storage with a price of 4,300 yuan (about 570 euros)
As for its sale outside of China, it is unlikely. Generally, these types of devices do not usually leave the Asian country. So, if we want it, we will have to resort to import stores.
