The update to Android 7.0 Nougat is now practically ready for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. The Korean company Samsung launched the tests at the end of last year, so by now it should be with us. And so it will be.
Samsung Spain has announced that the update to the most recent version of Google's operating system will arrive progressively in the coming weeks. The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 edge will have to be prepared, but also the members of the Samsung Galaxy S6 saga.
The update brings major performance improvements as well as fixes for bugs found in the previous version. But this would not be all, because Samsung has decided to introduce some exclusive news for the devices in its catalog.
The camera works much better
Samsung has decided to speed up the operation of the camera, so that now it looks much more simplified. From now on, to access the different modes within the camera application we will only have to move in the different directions: right, left, up or down.
The most advantageous thing about all this is that changing the mode from the rear screen to the front will be much faster. With this new interface we can also add filters and activate the different special shooting modes that Samsung has reserved for its users.
More settings for drums
The battery has always been the Achilles heel of all manufacturers. In the latest versions of Android, Google has taken care to improve this issue and has done so through Doze mode. But the manufacturers have not wanted to fall short either.
With the addition of Android 7.0 Nougat, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S6 will have new settings, so that users can customize their experience according to their needs. Thus, they will not have to limit the operation of many options of their phone in order to gain a little more autonomy or sacrifice everything for the cause.
It is, for example, being able to choose different saving modes (low, medium or high). But you will also have the option to choose if you want to reduce the brightness of the screen in different degrees (starting from 80%), change the resolution of the screen (HD, FHD and WQHD) or limit the use of the CPU.
And although there will be different automatic modes with predefined settings, the expert user will be able to modify all these options at will, adapting them to their needs at all times.
But to all this we must add the famous Doze Mode, which comes standard with Android 7.0 Nougat and that, this yes, will be available on all mobiles that work with this version. This starts when the screen is off for a specified period of time.
Then some limitations are introduced in the processor and in the use of data that the applications make, which are deactivated again as soon as the phone is started again.
Other major improvements
We also find improvements in the notification system, which from now on can be displayed grouped to interact with them together, instead of responding to notification by notification. In addition, it will not be necessary to specifically enter each of the applications, because the notifications will be read from the settings menu itself.
The S Finder and Quick Connect applications will become part of the main menu, integrated into the notification bar. Accessing them will be much easier. What is this for? Well, to manage WiFi connections without having to access the Settings section.
Always On Display gets better too. The system that allows us to read notifications without having to unlock the screen will now be much more aesthetically customizable, with new clock designs, more colors and the possibility of adding a photo from the gallery as a wallpaper. Last but not least, we must mention the possibility of receiving direct notifications from third-party applications such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, something that was not possible until now.
