- Color OS 11: compatible mobiles
Google has already released the final version of Android 11 and the main manufacturers have already announced their new systems based on the latest version of this operating system. OPPO, the Asian manufacturer, has announced Color OS 11. It is the new interface that will reach a large number of the brand's mobiles and which includes important new features, especially related to design. These are all the Color OS 11 news that you are interested in knowing if you have an OPPO mobile.
New customization options
One of the most important news has to do with the dark mode. This feature was announced with Color OS 10, but is now enhanced with the ability to customize the dark tones of the interface. We can choose what kind of black we want in the system. If completely dark (friendly with OLED and AMOLED screens), a medium black or a lighter gray. In addition, we can also choose the possibility of activating a darker background, icons or contrast in order to save battery life.
And speaking of wallpapers, a new function of the system allows you to create 'Wallpapers' through photographs taken with our mobile phone camera. Color OS will recognize backgrounds and colors and create the ultimate wallpaper.
In addition to the possibility of customizing the dark mode, the new interface also allows you to change the typography or the colors and shapes of some elements, such as icons, letters, charms, etc. The Always-on screen also receives news and now it becomes more customizable, with the possibility of changing the colors of the clock, choosing different styles, etc.
More options for productivity
Surely you have used your mobile as a work tool more than once and have needed to enter several applications at the same time. A very interesting option that manufacturers are implementing are pop-ups. These allow you to see an application on one side of the screen while we continue browsing the device or use another app. Oppo has also included floating windows in Color OS 11, but with a new option. The interface allows resizing these windows and adapting them to the size that we like the most.
An interesting feature has also been added to the screenshot option. If we take a screenshot and a text appears we can translate it in real time through the Google assistant. No need to write or copy what it says. The system will take care of extracting the text from the image and copying it into the Google translator so that it can be converted into our language.
And if you are concerned about the battery, a new autonomy saving mode has been implemented. By activating this function we can choose which 6 apps we want to keep running (for example, phone, messages, WhatsApp…). The others will be deactivated until we remove this mode.
Other new features of the Color OS 11 system
OPPO has also added new features for Android 11. For example, the new control menu. By holding down the start button we will access a new menu where we can see the Google Pay cards and control the home accessories quickly.
New tones are also added to the system, as well as the security and privacy options that we saw in Android 11. Among them, the possibility of granting permissions to an app only once, and not always when it is started. Or the new option that allows you to quickly block applications through a fingerprint reader, PIN or face unlock.
