The Finnish Nokia is serious about its new stage with Microsoft. Although the Nordic company has not had among its last priorities installing very high-power processors, it seems that this is on the way to change. And is that as has been published in Forbes magazine, ST-Ericsson would have received an order from Nokia to supply chips of the NovaThor U8500 series, a component that is characterized by a dual-core heart and a speed of 1.2 GHz.
The person responsible for this data has been Carlo Bozotti, president of the STMicroelectronics company, owned precisely by the company that would provide processors to the first generation of Nokia and Microsoft phones. However, there is no news about which terminals would debut this line of phones, or when exactly we will see the device that opens this range.
What has begun to be raised is the table of characteristics that, at the performance level, this chipset would be able to supply in Nokia mobiles that install the ST-Ericsson processor. As we have already seen in other mobiles of this generation, from the outset it could record videos in high definition with a maximum resolution of 1080p. In addition, in this line, it could also perform with a dual camera system of up to 20 and five megapixels, respectively.
At the time, it was already said that the Windows Phone version of the Nokia N8 (which we would know as Nokia W8) would install a Qualcomm dual-core processor, and although the North American company could supply chips to other terminals of the Finnish company, it seems that ST-Ericsson's involvement will not be entirely anecdotal, according to Bozotti's statements.
