5G connectivity and mid-range features
Against all odds, the latest Nokia has arrived as a mid-range mobile. The Nokia 8.3 has a Snapdragon 765G processor accompanied by 6 and 8 GB of RAM and 128 and 256 GB of internal storage. Regarding 5G connectivity, Nokia claims to be the mobile phone with the highest number of bands for this technology, so it is assumed that it will be compatible with both SA and NSA networks.
The rest of the specifications come to complement its connectivity sheet: Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band WiFi, NFC, USB type C 3.0… It also has a 4,000 mAh battery with fast charge, although Nokia has not specified the power of the itself.
Nokia goes to the hole in the screen
The main novelty of the Nokia 8.3, beyond the integration of a 5G module, comes from the design, which is renewed both at the back and at the front. In the latter we find a panel of almost 6.9 inches (6.81 to be more exact) with Pure Display technology, Full HD + resolution and compatibility with HDR10 +.
Accompanied by an island-shaped hole, Nokia has chosen to move the fingerprint sensor to the back of the equipment. As for this, the phone boasts a metal and glass chassis that houses a circular camera module with no less than four cameras. The appearance of its back cover stands out, with a cyan color whose hue varies depending on the incidence of light.
Four cameras without much information
Few are the data that Nokia has provided around the photographic section of the equipment. It is known that it has a 64 megapixel main camera that uses the Pixel Bining system to combine several pixels into one and obtain greater brightness and detail of the images. It is also known that it comes accompanied by three cameras, one with a wide angle lens, another with a macro lens and a last depth sensor for images in Portrait mode. The rest of the specifications are unknown to this day.
As for the front camera, it has a 32 megapixel sensor with facial recognition and Artificial Intelligence functions. The main sensor, by the way, is capable of recording videos at 4K resolution with HDR applied.
Nokia 8.3 price and availability
We come to the most controversial section, the price. 600 euros for the cheapest version and 650 euros for the version with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. It is expected to arrive in Spain in the coming months. Starting in summer, specifically.
