Symbian Anna begins to reach mobile phones that were released with Symbian 3. We are talking about the Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C6-01 and Nokia C7, all of them waiting for weeks to catch up with the renewed version of the native Finnish system for smartphones.
As promised by the Espoo multinational, August was the month chosen for the mobiles that were presented at the last edition of Nokia World to match their system configuration to their latest launches (the Nokia E6 and Nokia X7).
The update can be carried out in two ways: OTA (Over-The-Air, that is, from the phone itself without physically connecting it to an external device) or using the Ovi Stuite platform from the computer.
The updating process is developing gradually by country. Right now, the UK, France, India and Italy are the first to catch up with the latest released version of Symbian, so we will have to be patient for the next few weeks until it can be downloaded in Spain.
As we know from Phone Arena, the update weighs 27 MB, and the process may take about 20 minutes until we have the system installed on our device. Those who have already tried Symbian Anna on a Nokia N8 (the firmware was unofficially released several weeks ago) say that it gains speed and stability, something that presumably should be extended to other terminals.
One of the especially interesting points in the arrival of Symbian Anna to the Nokia C7 is the activation of the NFC functions of this device. We refer to the proximity communication system ( Near Field Communication ) that, among other things, makes it possible to carry out transactions and payments with the mobile phone as a credit card.
