During the last Mobile World Congress, the mobile manufacturer Nokia had held its own events in parallel and did not occupy any fair space in any of the La Fira de Barcelona venues.
Instead, next year 2012 will be different for those in Espoo. Windows Phone 7 will be the main protagonist of its new range of advanced mobile phones, the first of which will appear in Spain at the end of next November. That is why, and according to a press release, Nokia will be present at the next edition of the most important mobile phone event: MWC 2012.
Nokia will occupy up to 30 percent of the 7,500 square meters of the entire fairgrounds, in addition to deploying different exhibitors. Therefore, and taking into account that next year 2012 is the date chosen to present the vast majority of mobiles, February and March 2012 may be an important date for the Nordic manufacturer.
Finally, and according to the published press release, the current president of Nokia (Stephen Elop) does not appear on the lists to attend the event and be one of the participants in the talks. However, Nokia's Communication Director (Mark Squires) has anticipated the possible gossip and has confirmed that both the company and its current CEO will be present, above all, on AppPlanet , where they will meet for four days talking application development; a market that Nokia, together with Windows Phone 7, hopes to conquer.
