After several months of rumors and leaks, the first Nokia smartphone with Android is now official. The Finnish company HMD Global, a small company that has been in charge of reviving the Nokia brand in the world of smartphones, has officially presented the Nokia 6. A somewhat "decaffeinated" return, as the first HMD Global smartphone will be launched only in China and also offers very conservative specifications. The Nokia 6 offers a metal body, 5.5-inch screen, Qualcomm processor and Android 7.0 Nougat. We are going to know in depth the smartphone that represents the return of a historic company to the market, the Nokia 6.
At the beginning of 2014 we met the Nokia XL, a smartphone with a 5-inch screen that mixed an interface similar to that of Windows Phone with the possibility of using Android applications. However, it was not a terminal with an Android operating system, since the company developed its own hybrid system called Nokia X 1.0. The new Nokia 6 does incorporate Google's operating system, indeed, according to HMD, it offers the latest version of the Mountain View operating system, Android 7.0 Nougat. What we still do not know is if Android will be used pure or if the company will apply some layer of personalization.
At the design level, we have an all-metal smartphone with rounded lines, with a front part governed by the screen that curves to the sides through the use of 2.5D glass and an oval Home button that is very reminiscent of those of a certain Korean company. Behind this button is a fingerprint reader. At the back, only the camera lens stands out on a completely smooth finish, which does not protrude from the housing, being perfectly integrated. As for the screen, we have a 5.5-inch in-cell hybrid panel with Full HD resolution, protected with Corning Gorilla Glass. According to HMD data, the screen incorporates a polarized foil that allows excellent readability in sunlight.
Inside the terminal we have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, consisting of eight cores running up to 1.4 GHz and an Adreno 505 GPU, which is accompanied by 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. HMD has also taken care of the sound of the terminal, with a double front speaker and an amplifier capable of providing a sound of up to 6dB, with Dolby Atmos certification.
As for the photographic section, the Nokia 6 incorporates a rear camera sensor 16 megapixels and aperture f / 2.0, automatic phase detection and autofocusing system. In addition, HMD has announced that it will include an exclusive interface capable of automatically detecting the characteristics of the scene, thus being able to take the best photograph in any condition. In the front we have included a sensor 8 megapixels.
At the moment no data on the battery has been provided, the company simply talks about a "long-lasting" battery. The new Nokia 6 will be available in the coming days exclusively in the Chinese store JD.com, with a price of around 230 euros at the exchange. HMD has announced that its decision to launch the Nokia 6 first in China is due to the fact that "with more than 552 million users, it is a strategically important market where design and premium quality are highly valued by consumers . " We hope that soon we can see the new terminals with the Nokia brand in our country.
