Users who have a Google Nexus One purchased with Vodafone are in luck. The operator, according to its official forum, has released a new update to the Android operating system. To be more specific, the version that would have reached the Nexus One is Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread. This version is updated without the need for a computer in between. That is, it is received with the modality called OTA ( Over the Air ).
Although it is not the latest version on the market, Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread reaches the Nexus One terminals that were sold by Vodafone. It is known to fix some security issues and add improvements when it comes to fluidity of operation. However, the first Google mobile -this is how this model is known- surely does not officially receive the Android version that equips the Samsung Galaxy Nexus: Android 4.0.
According to Google itself, Nexus One does not have enough power to be able to move the new icons with ease and therefore, it will be left out of the update of the new Android 4.0; Nexus S for its part already received it a few weeks ago. However, the unofficial versions will not wait either - as has happened with previous versions of Android, in this and other terminals.
For the moment, Vodafone has already confirmed that the update has been sent to its terminals. Users should receive it in the next few days. To check it, just go to the " Settings " section. Once inside, you must select the option " About phone " and click " Software update " again.
