It has been more than half a year since the presentation of the Nexus 6, but many users will still remember those rumors that the Motorola Nexus would incorporate a fingerprint reader. Finally, there was no trace of the fingerprint reader, but not because the rumors were not correct, but because Apple took over the company that was originally going to manufacture the Nexus 6 fingerprint reader. Now, some photographs of a previous Nexus 6 prototype reveal what the fingerprint reader of this smartphone would have looked like.
The photographs reveal a very curious detail, and it seems that Motorola had planned to incorporate the fingerprint reader under its logo in the Nexus 6. In this way, users could have unlocked the screen simply by resting their finger on the Motorola logo located on the back cover, in a very similar way to that of the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 (saving the difference in the logo). The images have been leaked on the Asian social network Weibo.com, and show that Apple's purchase of AuthenTec - the company that was to manufacture the fingerprint reader for Motorola- It was an important change in the design of a smartphone that perhaps, with the incorporation of a fingerprint reader, could have had greater acceptance in the market.
In any case, this is a thing of the past. Now, if we look to the future, we will see that both the new Nexus 5 (2015) from LG and the new Nexus 6 (2015) from Huawei are expected to incorporate a fingerprint reader, and in this case it does not seem that there will be no last minute changes about it. Although there is still no official information in this regard, it is expected that both phones will incorporate the fingerprint reader on the back cover (to the left of the camera in the case of the LG version, and below the camera in the Huawei version.).
With regard to the Nexus 6, we are talking about a smartphone that from its first days of life has already generated some controversy due to its -according to some users- high launch price (from 650 euros for the 32 GigaBytes version, regarding at 350 euros for which you could buy the most basic version of the Nexus 5). But this price increase was accompanied by a renewal in the technical specifications, and although eventually there was no trace of the fingerprint reader if we could find with a screen resolution type Quad HD (2,560 x 1,440 pixels), a processor Snapdragon 805of four cores, 3 gigabytes of RAM, 32 / to 64 gigabytes of internal memory, a main chamber 13 megapixels and a battery of 3220 mAh.
