Display and layout
The Nexus 6 falls directly into the category of tablet or phablet, and its screen measures 5.96 inches diagonally. But in addition to being large, the AMOLED panel of the Nexus 6 is also very sharp. Specifically, it has a QHD resolution, which is equivalent to 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. With this setting, the screen density is 493 dots per inch. It is covered by a sheet of Corning Gorilla Glass 3, a very resistant material that does not scratch and is better resistant to shocks.
Motorola and Google have opted for a design of organic lines. When viewed in profile, the back is slightly curved outward, so it fits better in the hand. As we said, it has an aluminum frame around it, which in addition to giving it a more elegant touch provides resistance. The terminal is quite large, almost 16 centimeters high by 8.3 wide. The thickness stays 10 mm and its weight is , 184 grams normal in phablet. The Nexus 6 will be available in two models, one white and one dark blue.
Camera and multimedia
The optical stabilizer is already an essential in any high-end mobile. It is a piece that cushions the tremors that occur when we hold the mobile in our hand. It counteracts these movements, moving the entire camera module, as if they were the shock absorbers of a car. The result is sharper photos even in low light, as well as videos with much smoother movements. The Nexus 6 has a 13 megapixel backlit sensor, a high resolution so that we can view or print the images in a large size. It has a lens with aperture f / 2.0Another key piece to get good photos even if the light is not the best. In the case of very bad lighting, you can always use the LED flash, which in this case is double and is placed in a ring around the lens. It also has basic functions like auto focus, panorama mode, face detector, Photo Sphere (360 degree panoramas), and HDR mode. It records videos in 4K 2160p resolution and the front camera has 2 megapixels of resolution.
The Nexus 6 has two speakers on the front for better sound when watching a video on its large screen. How could it be otherwise, it is compatible with the most common formats and codecs, so that there are no problems when playing files.
Power and memory
The Nexus 6 aims high on power. The terminal integrates a Snapdragon 805 processor, the latest model from Qualcomm. It is a quad-core with Krait 450 architecture , which operates at 2.7 Ghz clock frequency. The graphics section is provided by an Adreno 420 chip and has 3 Gb of RAM. This, coupled with the expected fluidity of Android 5.0 Lollipoop, could mean some of the fastest performance seen on Android so far.
The Nexus 6 does not have an expansion slot for memory cards, as it is already common in the Nexus family. Google offers us the terminal in two versions of different capacities, both very spacious, to choose between 32 and 64 Gb.
Operating system and applications
The operating system is one of the highlights of the Nexus 6, and is that this model releases the long-awaited Android 5.0 Lollipop version. Google already showed months ago the new design of the platform, much simpler and with flat colors. But Android Lollipop is not just about appearance, it has many new features such as improved notifications. Now you can establish the importance of the notices, so we will only receive messages from the people or applications we want. Synchronization between devices has also been improved,in this way we can have the same applications or for example follow a search that we did on the smartphone from our tablet. The security is another key point, with features like guest mode users. In general, the handling has been made more intuitive, with new gestures and smooth animations. It also has a battery saving system.
Connectivity and autonomy
How could it be otherwise, the Nexus 6 has a very complete connection profile, starting with its connection to 4G mobile networks. It also allows 3G connection and can be shared by creating a WiFi zone. It has a 5 Ghz WiFi port , GPS antenna , Bluetooth 4.1, DLNA, NFC chip and WiFi Direct. Connections with cables are the usual ones; a MicroUSB and a headphone minijack.
The battery in the Nexus 6 has 3,220 milliamps capacity, quite wide so you can feed your wide screen. Google indicates that it can be on between 330 and 250 hours in sleep mode. The navigation is between 9.5 and 10 hours, depending on whether we are using the 4G or WiFi. It also offers 24 hours of talk time and 10 hours of video playback. It comes with a very interesting function that allows us to charge the battery for 15 minutes and get 6 hours of use, very useful if we have to leave home and do not have time to charge the mobile.
Feedback
Google and Motorola have created a very complete tabletphone. It carries everything you need to be considered a high-end with all the letters. It has a large screen with QHD resolution, the latest Qualcomm processor and an optical stabilizer camera. In addition, its design includes a metal frame, very appropriate now that more and more importance is being given to materials. Android 5.0 Lollipop is its most outstanding novelty. Its price remains to be known, although everything indicates that it will not be as tight as we have seen in previous editions of this model.
