This was just confirmed by the company in a recent statement to the media. In light of the latest events around the coronavirus in Spain, the operator has announced a series of measures in order to "improve communications." These measures will be applied immediately to all those clients who have Movistar Fusion rates and Movistar mobile rates. Let's see what news they include.
30 GB of free mobile data and more news
For a maximum period of two months, Movistar will give its customers 30 GB of mobile data in Fusion and Mobile rates. This distribution will be made every month, adding a total of 60 GB free between the two months. It is unknown if they will apply to all mobile lines independently or together. At the moment there is no additional information.
With regard to the rest of Movistar services, the company has announced that the Movistar Junior application will be made available to all Fusion customers with content intended for the smallest of the household. Like the previous measure, it will not entail any additional expense for the current customers of the operator.
Finally, Movistar has assured that it will reinforce the children's and sports content on its streaming platform Movistar + Lite in the coming days, a service that is included as standard in all Movistar FusiĆ³n packages. This measure also applies to all users of the service who have decided to contract an independent subscription to Movistar + Lite.
They could reach the rest of the countries
The novelties introduced by Movistar will apply for the moment in Spain. However, the company has ensured that similar measures will be taken in other regions where its network operates depending on the evolution of the outbreak in each country.
Regarding its application, everything indicates that customers will be notified in the next few days by means of a text message or via email. Regardless of whether the monthly payment has been met, the measures will prevail for the next two months from the eventual change of the conditions.
