- Price and availability of Motorola Edge and Edge Plus in Spain
Everything indicated that 2020 was going to be the year in which the price of mobile phones reached its highest point. And so it has been. Motorola has just joined the phones of more than 1,000 euros with its new Edge range. Two have been the models presented by the Asian firm, the Motorola Edge and the Motorola Edge +. While the former will try to cover the upper-mid-range niche, the Plus model arrives as the company's highest-end model.

The curves and the hole in the screen are a trend in 2020
It seems that the curves are here to stay. Both terminals share the front and rear design, as well as the diagonal of the whole, of 6.67 inches. Beyond the presence of curves and glass throughout the chassis, the two phones stand out for integrating a 90 Hz perforated screen.
Both panels have OLED technology and Full HD + resolution. Also with a fingerprint sensor, it again happens to be located at the rear over the lake of the brand. Also, both terminals share the same dual speaker system with stereo sound. Where we do find a substantial difference is in the rear camera module. Despite this, both the Motorola Edge and Motorola Edge Plus have the same number of cameras.
Hardware: midway between the mid-range and the high-end
Motorola has wanted to differentiate its new Edge series into two ranges, a medium high and a high with all the letters. This can be seen in the technical specifications of both models. While the cheaper model has a Snapdragon 765G processor, the high-end model has a Snapdragon 865. Both have 5G compatible with SA and NSA networks.
Differences between technical specifications also apply to the available memory configurations. 4 and 6 GB of RAM in the Motorola Edge and 12 GB in the Edge +. Both have 128 and 256 GB of type UFS 3.0.
The rest of the details are practically identical in the two models, except for the battery, 4,500 and 5,000 mAh respectively. Both have 18 W fast charging, while the Plus model has wireless charging and 15 W reversible wireless charging. In the connection section, both share the same string: WiFi 6, NFC, Bluetooth 5.1… Of course, both have Android 10 as standard.
Cameras to give and give away with 64 and 108 megapixels
Motorola has bet everything on the photographic section of its two flagships with two main sensors of 108 and 68 megapixels, both signed by Samsung. Unsurprisingly, the top-end model opts for the higher resolution sensor.
Both terminals are accompanied by three. The Motorola Edge Plus has three 16, 8 and 2 megapixel sensors and wide angle, telephoto and ToF lenses for calculating depth. The telephoto lens sensor is capable of offering a 3x optical zoom level. Nothing of 5 or 10 of the Huawei P40 Pro Plus.
The same configuration of sensors and lenses is found in the most basic model, except for the second sensor, which only offers a zoom level of 2x. Two complementary cameras with the same resolution and the same lenses, in the absence of information about their sensors. The same is true of the 25 megapixel front camera sensor with software face unlock functions.
Price and availability of Motorola Edge and Edge Plus in Spain
It is time to talk about what is possibly the most controversial section of all, the price. As is usual, the company has not provided the date of availability and the departure price of the terminals in Spain. At the moment, the announced roadmap is as follows:
- Motorola Moto Edge with 6 and 128 GB: 700 euros.
- Motorola Moto Edge with 8 and 256 GB: to be specified.
- Motorola Moto Edge + with 12 and 256 GB: 1,000 euros.
Predictably they will arrive in Spain during the next month of May or June, although nothing has been confirmed at the time of writing.
