The North American Motorola gets the batteries. Although 2010 has not been a bad year for this company (at least, not in its domestic market), some of its most powerful launches were obsolete in a few weeks while Samsung, HTC or Nokia torpedoed the sector with a multitude of launches who they upgraded very quickly the roof of devices, making mobile from Motorola only visasen in the mirror.
To fix this, the manufacturer seems to want to hit the table with the Motorola Olympus. It is a mobile that we will see at CES 2011 in Las Vegas, and that is anticipated as the high-end of this company for 2011. At the moment it does not have a commercial launch date, nor is the price known. However, it seems unlikely that it will be put on sale before the Mobile World Congress 2011 in Barcelona.
The technical profile of the Motorola Olympus is quite reminiscent of the LG Optimus 2X, the Samsung Stealth V or the Samsung Galaxy S2. For starters, the Motorola Olympus will equip a dual-core processor. The chip chosen is the NVIDIA Tegra 2 at one GHz per core. It will also screen four inches, capacitive and resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. It is not known if it will be AMOLED or Super LCD, although it will most likely point to the former option.
In addition, it will use its dual core to enhance the video function. The Motorola Olympus will not only play back footage in 1080p high definition resolution, it will also be able to record at this size. It has not yet specified the quality of the camera, but everything points to eight megapixels. It will also have an HDMI output port, and will equip Android 2.3 Gingerbread as standard. Will this Motorola Olympus help the company begin to remember what it was like to be a super seller ?
