2010 was the year of presentation, but 2011 will be the year of the competition. We refer to the tablet, that gadget that already existed before the iPad, but it was not until Apple's entry into this field (as an elephant would do in a glass factory) that this technology became popular halfway between the netbook, the mobile and the electronic book. And we say that next year will be the year of commercial conflict because to the models that we already know from other manufacturers we must add a new competitor: Motorola's MOTOPAD.
We have already told you something about this device, closer to the Samsung Galaxy Tab than to the iPad. Not only because it is betting on Android (operating system thanks to which the North American manufacturer saved itself from the disappearance of the mobile phone sector), but also because it moves away from bulky formats, opting for a manageable size of seven inches in diameter for its screen.
The novelties that are beginning to be known about MOTOPAD indicate that it will begin to be seen from February 2011. With this, it is practically taken for granted that CES 2011 will be the presentation framework for this tablet, which we will also be able to see at the Barcelona telephone fair, the Mobile World Congress.
One of the attractions of this MOTOPAD will be in its operating system, since Google has ensured that Android 3.0 Honeycomb will be released on this device. But it is not the only big surprise.
Another point of interest that has ended up being confirmed is the processor r. NVIDIA will finally install its Tegra 2 in the MOTOPAD, so the power of this tablet will be more than assured with a unique dual-core chip that already anticipates excellent 3D performance, as well as for playback (and maybe recording too?) of videos in high definition quality.
