Motorola continues to renew the Moto G range, one of the most interesting of the firm belonging to Lenovo and the one with the most products. In this case, the company has presented the Motorola Moto G9, which is in the mid-range with features. The new mobile comes with a renewed design and more battery. Its cameras are also improved, as well as the processor, which is slightly higher than the previous version. We review all the changes.
The first improvement we see in the Moto G9 over the G8 is the design. The company has opted for a drop-type notch in this device, while in the previous version we found a camera directly on the screen. The rear is kept in polycarbonate, but again, with important changes. Now the camera module has a square shape and is located in the center. Just below is the fingerprint reader, which also integrates the Motorola logo. Of course, the double curvature is maintained at the rear for a better grip. A new button has also been added on the side, which is used to summon the Google Assistant.
Another of the most prominent changes in the new Moto G9 is the battery, which goes up to 5,000 mAh. That is, 1,000 mAh more than the previous generation. It is a very large amount, so it should be noticed on a day-to-day basis. While the battery of the Moto G8 could last about a day and the first hours of the next day, that of this Moto G9 can go up to two days of use without any problem. Also, so that we can fill this capacity in a decent time, the firm has included a fast charge of 20W. In this case, we can achieve 50 percent in approximately 30 minutes.

Screen and cameras of the new Motorola Moto G9
The battery ensures that the 6.5-inch LCD panel works perfectly. It is a screen with Full HD + resolution. The terminal comes with a Snapdragon 662 processor. The previous model had a Snapdragon 665, but curiously the 662 model is newer and more powerful than the 665. In this case, accompanied by 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory. It is a fairly basic configuration, but sufficient for day to day. Keep in mind that the Moto G range has more versions (Moto G Power, Moto G Plus…), these could come with a more powerful RAM and storage configuration.
I do not forget the camera, another of the important changes of this new mobile. The triple lens is maintained. Now, the modules increase in resolution and the main camera goes from 16 megapixels to 48 megapixels. The wide-angle camera is removed to make way for a 2 megapixel macro. We also find a depth sensor, for photographs in portrait mode. This has the same resolution as the macro lens: 2 megapixels.
As for the front camera, it is the same 8-megapixel sensor with f / 2.2 aperture that we saw in the previous generation. 8 megapixels is a more than decent resolution for spot selfies and video calls, though it may fall short for self-portraits in low-light situations.
Price and availability
The Motorola Moto G9 has been announced in India, but it is very likely that we will see it in Spain soon. This terminal comes in a single version with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. It is available in two colors: green and blue. The price? In India it is sold for about 11,500 rupees, which is 130 euros. However, in Spain it could go on sale for about 180 euros.
It is a very interesting device, especially considering the size of the battery. However, it must be borne in mind that there are very interesting alternatives from the main manufacturers. For example, Samsung has the Galaxy M range with similar features at a good price. Also Xiaomi, with the Redmi range. We will see if this device finally arrives in Spain at a price of less than 200 euros so that it can compete with the rest of the models.
