The second-generation Motorola Moto E, or Motorola Moto E (2015), is now official. The American company Motorola has updated its official website with the addition of this smartphone, which hits the market to succeed the Motorola Moto E (2014). The main novelties of the new Moto E of 2015 reside in an increase in the size of the screen (we went from 4.3 to 4.5 inches), a significant improvement in the processor (we went from a Qulcomm Snapdragon 200 to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410), theincorporation of 4G LTE connectivity and an operating system updated to the latest version (Android 5.0.2 Lollipop).
Display and layout
The Motorola Moto E (2015) is presented with a screen IPS LCD of 4.5 inch to reach a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels (with a pixel density in the set screen 245 ppi). This screen reaches 16 million colors, and is protected against bumps and scratches by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 technology (and also includes anti-stain coating).
Measures the Moto E (2015) are set at 130 x 67.1 x 11.9 mm in size and 142.9 grams of weight. This smartphone is available in two housing colors: black and white. On its front part we can see a screen accompanied by three virtual buttons located inside and a speaker accompanied by the front camera; On the back of this mobile we have the main camera and the Motorola logo. On the right side is the power button and the volume button, while at the top we find the audio output.
A particularly intriguing feature of the Motorola Moto E (2015) is that their side edges are accommodated in a fully detachable piece. This means that to insert a SIM card or a microSD card in this smartphone it is necessary to remove the side edges. These edges are removed in the same way that a back cover is removed on any conventional smartphone, and they do not require any specific tools during the process.
Camera and multimedia
The Motorola Moto E (2015) incorporates two cameras. The main chamber houses inside sensor five megapixel with an aperture of f / 2.2, autofocus and digital zoom of four increases. This camera is able to take snapshots with a maximum resolution of 2,592 x 1,944 pixels, whereas in the case of video resolution is 720 pixels (at a rate of 30 frames per second). Although, yes, it does not have LED Flash.
The secondary camera is located on the front of the Moto E (2015), and incorporates a VGA type sensor that offers one of the simplest qualities when it comes to smartphone cameras.
This smartphone, in addition to being compatible with the most popular audio and video formats thanks to its native media player, also has FM Radio.
Processor and memory
One of the most striking improvements of the Motorola Moto E (2015) with respect to its predecessor resides in the processor. We went from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410, which translates into an increase in the power of the mobile when processing the data. This processor is quad-core, and reaches a clock speed of 1.2 GHz. The processor of the smart phone is also accompanied by a graphics processor Adreno 306 and a memory RAM of 1 gigabyte capacity.
Of course, the Snapdragon 410 processor is only present in the 4G version of the Moto E (2015), since the version with conventional data connectivity (that is, the Motorola Moto E (2015) 3G) incorporates a Snapdragon 200 processor. This difference is also present in the type of processor cores (the 4G version has Cortex-A53 cores, while the 3G version incorporates Cortex-A7 cores) and in the graphics processor (Adreno 302 in the 3G version and Adreno 306 in the 4G version).
The internal storage capacity of the Motorola Moto E (2014) reaches 8 GigaBytes. This space can be expanded through an external memory card of the microSD type whose capacity cannot exceed 32 GigaBytes.
Operating system and applications
The Motorola Moto E (2015) is updated to the latest version of the Android operating system. Although Motorola indicates on its website that it is the Android 5.0 Lollipop version, everything seems to indicate that the version that users who purchase this terminal will find is Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. And as such, we are talking about a version that should bring corrections for the vast majority of the problems generated after the first Lollipop updates.
The final and official list of factory installed applications in the Motorola Moto E (2015) has not yet transpired, although we can be sure that this terminal includes apps such as Google Chrome, Gmail, Google Maps or Hangouts, among many other services provided by the American company Google.
Connectivity and autonomy
The Motorola Moto E (2015) notable for including connectivity 4G LTE of Internet ultra-fast, which allows download speeds of up to 150 Mbps. In addition to this, this smartphone also incorporates WiFi (802.11 b / g / n), Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS (with A-GPS and GLONASS), in addition to physical connectivities microUSB 2.0 and output minijack 3.5 mm.
The battery capacity of the Moto E (2015) is 2,390 mAh. Talking about autonomy is still very hasty, since Motorola has not provided any official figure in this regard, and it seems that to know this data we will have no choice but to wait until the first tests of this smartphone.
Price and availability
The Motorola Moto E (2015) will be available in its version with 4G LTE connectivity for a starting price of 130 euros. Its planned launch date for Spain points to February 28. Motorola has not made any statement regarding the availability of the 3G version of this smartphone, so it is possible that it is a variant that will only reach US stores.
