The independent developer community is very active. And the last cooked ROM that has been seen is for the almighty Samsung Galaxy S2. The version is based on Android 4.0 and the team of developers has been MIUI, one of the best known versions along with CyanogenMod. In this way, the owners who have the Samsung flagship in their possession, can already test the stable version that the guys from XDA have posted on their forum.
Official Android updates are often delayed. This does not happen if it is one of the official Google terminals, which receive -in a few days after its presentation- the official version of the new Android. This happened on Nexus S and Android 4.0. The explanation is very simple: companies and operators adapt the versions with their proprietary functions and with their user interface.
The stable version of MIUI that has been developed based on Android 4.0, does not limit the Samsung Galaxy S2 in anything: its eight Mega-pixel camera or MicroSD memory cards will work as normal. Of course, the appearance of this version will be different from what was shown during the presentation of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus or what the owners of Nexus S -if they have updated- will be able to check on their units.
With MIUI many of the improvements of Android 4.0 are received - it is said that the speed of the terminal increases considerably compared to the Gingerbread version - although the visualization and customization of the interface will be the characteristics that these developers use. The version does not include the Spanish language; it only works in English. And, it should always be remembered that you have to find out beforehand and have some prior knowledge to start testing unofficial versions on the terminals, since any failure can be fatal for the operation of the smartphone.
