If you have ever used a Xiaomi mobile you will have noticed that it is quite different from the rest of the terminals with Google's operating system that we find in stores. With the exception of the Xiaomi Mi A1, Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite, which have pure Android, the rest of the devices of the Chinese brand have a pre-installed layer of personalization of the brand called MIUI. A layer loved by many, hated by others, which differs from pure Android in its enormous customization capacity and which now reaches version number 11, loaded with new features. Do you want to know what awaits Xiaomi terminals when they update to MIUI 11? Well keep reading.
MIUI 11 features, higher speed and performance
This is all that is known to come as a novelty in MIUI 11.
- Users will see fewer ads on their terminals (one of the main reasons why Xiaomi terminals are so cheap is because of the inclusion of advertising in the system's own applications) and, those they will see, will be more personalized, trying to avoid intrusive advertising not relevant.
- Super saving mode. In MIUI 11 we can activate the new 'super saving mode' that will turn the mobile into a monochrome terminal, thus avoiding unnecessary battery consumption when we have little autonomy and it is vital to maintain it. All mobile functions will be turned off and only calls and messages will remain active
- New icons in MIUI 11 with a unified general design. The new MIUI will also manage the screenshots to remove them from the terminal, automatically, once they have been shared.
- New local recycle bin. As we already have on the PC, in the new Xiaomi with MIUI 11 we will have the possibility of having a recycling bin where the documents that we delete will be stored for a while, in case you need to recover them before the system deletes them permanently.
- Greater speed than MIUI 10 through Artificial Intelligence.
- New gestures to facilitate, even more, its use due to the increasingly large screens.
MIUI 11 compatible phones
Among the main terminals that will be compatible with the new layer of MIUI 11 are the high-end Xiaomi Mi 8, Xiaomi Mi 9, Mi Mix 3 and Pocophone F1, the middle ranges Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite, Mi 9 SE, Xiaomi Mi Max 3 and the Redmi brand, such as the Redmi Note 7, Note 6 Pro and Note 5. It is expected that these phones will receive the update to MIUI 11 with no date yet available. Last year at the end of the month the first open beta version of MIUI 10 was available, so we hope that the deadlines will be repeated this year.
But be careful, if you do not see your terminal in the previous list, do not worry, that does not mean that it will not be updated. Xiaomi has given the list of terminals that will NOT update to MIUI 11. If you see your phone here, then you will already know that you are running out of MIUI 11.
