Can I force the MIUI 11 update?
If you get impatient and want to take a shortcut to receive the news of MIUI 11 by forcing its update, you can try it. We explain in detail some options that you can take into account to carry out the process in this previous post.
Will I get the update sooner with the Global Beta version of MIUI?
If for some reason you are still in the Global Beta version of MIUI, quickly go to Global Stable if you want to have MIUI 11. There will be no Global beta version of MIUI 11.
Why don't I have all the features that were announced in MIUI 11?
Xiaomi announced all the features that MIUI 11 brings, but it does not mean that all the news can be implemented on all the phones that receive the update. Some will be limited by device or region.
For example, the Redmi Note 7 will not be able to have "Always on" because it does not have an Amoled screen. And one of the functions dedicated to health, such as the menstrual calendar, will only be available in Spain, India and Indonesia, as reported on the MIUI 11 presentation page.
In some cases, some of the features may arrive over time in future updates. And another reason has to do with the next question.
If I update to MIUI 11, does that mean I will have Android 10?
The vast majority of devices that update to MIUI 11 in these phases will not receive Android 10. That is, they will receive all the news of MIUI 11 in Android 9.
So far, only Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro and Mi 9 will receive MIUI 11 with Android 10. Although this does not mean that your device will not receive Android 10 in future updates.
So, in summary, there will be two types of updates. For these newer models it will be MIUI 11 + Android 10, and for the rest it will only be the update to the new MIUI.
Why is the Mi 8 updated before the Mi 9?
If you have reviewed the MIUI deployment calendar, you will have noticed that some cheaper models appear earlier in the phases than other high-end Xiaomi. This has generated controversy among users, since they did not understand the criteria that Xiaomi uses to update to MIUI 11, giving priority to certain models.
This is not a whim, nor is it a random choice. It has to do with the previous question, the update to Android 10. The Mi 9T Pro and Mi 9 will receive MIUI 11 with Android, so Xiaomi gives itself a longer window of time for the launch since it is an important update that requires certain processes.
So the lucky owners of these Xiaomi phones will wait a little longer, but they will have their reward with the arrival of Android 10.
So be patient, all MIUI 11 compatible models will receive the update within the estimated time period. If you have any additional questions about this Xiaomi update, leave them in the comments.
