Your Samsung mobile does not turn on or charge? It is a very common error in Samsung terminals, especially in those that have been on the market for a while. The battery wears out over time and can cause the terminal to malfunction. However, this problem can also be caused by different factors such as charger we are using, if the USB connector is in good condition etc . In this tutorial I show you five possible solutions if your Samsung mobile does not turn on or charge.
Check the cable and charger
The first thing you have to do if your Samsung mobile does not charge is to check the cable and charger. In some Samsung terminals it does not support charging with third-party or non-certified chargers. Therefore, make sure that the charger you are using is the original one. If you don't have the charger, you can also connect it to your computer to see if it charges, although it will take longer to charge. The cable is probably to blame too, so it's best to use the one that comes in the box or a quality one that works fine on other devices.
Don't forget to check if the charger is working properly. Even if it is the original, it may be damaged. To discard it, connected to any other device. For example, a tablet or gadget that supports charging. If the device does not recognize that it is charging, then the problem is with the charger. If, on the contrary, it works and charges, take the following steps to try to solve the problem.
Clean the charging connector
Many of the problems with charging are because the connector is dirty. The micro USB or USB C inputs are quite deep, and it's very easy for dirt or dust to get in after a while. This dirt covers the charging pins and prevents electricity from passing to the battery. To clean it, it is best to blow lightly on the port. You can also use a toothbrush or brush to remove the dust. Avoid using sharp objects, such as a toothpick or a pin, as they could damage the charging pins. Also, do not wet the terminal to clean the connector, even if it is submersible.
Press and hold the power button
If your Samsung mobile shows charging signs but does not turn on, there are also several solutions. One of them is to press and hold the power button for about 15 to 30 seconds and wait for the Samsung logo to appear. Many times the terminal does not detect that we are pressing the power button, so we only have to insist until the mobile starts to boot.
Access the recovery mode
If after performing these steps it still does not turn on, it is time to check if the terminal can enter recovery mode and reset it. The terminal could have a software glitch that prevents the phone from starting. To access the Recovery mode on a Samsung mobile, we must follow the following steps.
- On Samsung mobiles with a home button: press the power button, volume down and the home button at the same time. Wait for it to enter the recovery menu.
- On Samsung phones with a side Bixby button: press and hold the power button, volume up and Bixby at the same time. Wait for it to turn on and access the recovery menu.
- On a Samsung mobile without a start button or Bixby key: hold down the power button and volume down until the terminal starts up. The recovery mode will appear.
In the recovery mode we will move through the options as follows: to lower or raise the option use the volume down and volume up buttons. To enter an option, click on the power or start button.
To reset the mobile, click on 'Wipe data / Factory reset'. Then click on the 'Yes' button to confirm the action. Wait for the terminal to reset the entire system. At this point it is important not to touch any buttons or turn off the device. Once the whole process has finished, click on 'Reboot system Now and the device will be rectified.
Discard a fault on the screen
If all the previous steps have not worked for you, you will have to rule out a failure on the screen. It is likely that the device does turn on and has a battery, but maybe you do not see anything because the screen is damaged. To find out if it's a screen problem, turn up the volume on the phone and plug in the charger to see if it makes a sound. You should also check if the terminal makes any vibrations when turning on the terminal. Another option is to connect the device to a computer, if the PC recognizes it, it means that the terminal is on.
In this case the only solution is to take it to the technical service. If your terminal has not suffered any damage and is within the warranty period, the repair could be free. Even so, you should consult the technical service.
