What can I do if my Huawei mobile is slow? Surely if you are here it is because you notice that your terminal does not work correctly, with a lower performance than you perceived a few months ago. It can be due to many factors, but in this tutorial we show you some tips to improve the performance of your mobile, whether it is a Huawei P10, P20, Mate or the Y series.
Use the Optimizer app
Huawei phones have a very interesting application that helps us clean and optimize the system. It's called Optimizer, and it comes reinstalled on most of the company's devices . This app consists of different options that help us improve performance and inert storage. For example, there is an option called 'optimize'. Quickly and easily kill background processes and cache. We also have six other options to remove storage more completely, free up mobile data usage or scan for viruses. In this case, it is advisable to use the optimize option and the 'clean' option, since the latter empties the internal memory.
Uninstall the apps you don't use
You probably have too many apps on your mobile phone. Uninstall those that you don't use, as they take up internal memory on the phone and may be running in the background. Also, check that you don't have a dubbed app. That is, two apps from a different developer but doing the same thing. For example, two email apps, or notes.
To uninstall an app on a Huawei mobile, you just have to hold down and click the button that says 'uninstall'.
Faster animations
If you want to give your device a feeling of speed, you can increase the speed of the animations. This will make the process of opening the apps or navigating the system move much more fluidly.
First, it will be necessary to activate the developer options. To do this, we go to the system settings, go down to the option that says 'System' and click on 'About phone'. Next, we have to make several clicks on the build number. It will ask us for the PIN code of the device and it will notify us that the development options are activated. Then we go back once and click on the option that says 'Developer options'.
Now, we just have to look for the 'Drawing' feature and in the 'Animation scale' sections, change everything to 0.5x.
Beware of cleaning and antivirus apps
Do you have any cleaning application or antivirus installed? You better uninstall it. These apps are useless and can make your device move very slowly. Huawei already has a specific app to clean the system that works very well. In addition, it does not have advertising. The same happens if you have an antivirus. These applications are not necessary, since in most of the company's devices we have monthly security patches that correct different vulnerabilities. If we used to download applications through the Google Play Store, it is not necessary either, since the Google platform has 'Play Protect' that ensures that the apps in the Play Store are free of malware.
Download the 'Lite' versions of the main apps
Some of the main applications have a 'Lite' version. These consume less resources, such as RAM or storage and have practically the same function. For example, instead of Google Maps, we can download the Maps Go version and uninstall the original. In this case we lose some adjustments and animations, but we will notice a greater fluidity in the system. This advice is recommended especially for those devices with little RAM or storage, such as Huawei Y6, Y7, Huawei P10 Lite etc.
Beware of saving battery
Do you have battery saving activated? This could make your device slow. Battery Saver closes apps in the background that are not being used and disables animations, but also limits performance in order to achieve a little more autonomy. It is advisable that, if it is not strictly necessary, do not activate the battery saving mode.
To activate or deactivate the autonomy saving, go to 'Settings'. 'Battery' and disable the first three power saving options.
Reset the device
If you have followed all the steps and your device is still slow, it is best to reset the device. In this way, you will return to the factory state and delete all the necessary data that has remained in the system. It is advisable to make a backup copy of your data, since in this process you will lose all the photos and videos. You can also transfer all your files to a computer or SD card.
To reset the device, go to 'Settings', 'System' and click on the 'Reset' option. Then select 'Reset phone'. It will ask you to enter the passwords or PIN of the device and the terminal will restart. It is advisable to have the device plugged into the power so that you do not run out of battery in the process.
