Although it is not very common, the truth is that some Huawei and Honor models have been reporting a series of problems related to the WiFi connection. It does not connect, it is continuously disconnected, or it does not detect a network. Although the probability that the problem is related to the hardware of the mobile phone is quite high, we can carry out a series of methods to fix the WiFi of the terminal. Let's look at some of the most functional solutions to fix WiFi problems on Huawei, Honor and EMUI in general.

Forget the network if the problem comes from a single WiFi network
In the event that the problem occurs with a single WiFi network, the most effective solution to solve possible errors with the network is to completely remove it from the phone and add it again.
Simply press and hold the network in question and then select the Forget network option. Then we will add it again to connect to the Internet.
Always choose the 2.4 GHz network
It is well known that 5 GHz WiFi networks are more limited in scope than 2.4 GHz networks. Although they are generally more stable, it is advisable to always use the 2.4 GHz network to avoid future problems.
If the network in question continues to cause us a problem, we can jump between the 2.4 GHz network and the 5 GHz network to detect the error with greater precision.
Use a fixed IP address
The IP address is the identifier that our router assigns to all devices connected to the Internet. This assignment is done automatically. The solution to possible problems with the WiFi is to manually assign a fixed IP to the phone.
Within WiFi in Settings we will click on the network to which we are connected and then on Modify network. In IP Settings we will select static IP: a set of fields will automatically be displayed that we will have to fill in. We leave you with the data to enter.
- IP address: 192.168.1.X (where X goes any number between 1 and 255)
- Gateway: 192.168.1.1
- DNI 1: 1.1.1.1
- DNI 2: 1.1.1.1
When selecting the IP address we will have to make sure that no other device connected to the network makes use of the IP we choose. Therefore, we will have to select direction is that they start from 10 0 even 20 in the last set of numbers.
Reset network settings if none of the above works
The last method we can use before resetting the phone completely is to reset the network settings. In Settings / System / Restoration we can find the aforementioned option, as we can see in the screenshot below.
Once the settings have been restored we will have to add all the WiFi networks that we have previously saved.
Or format the phone as a last option
The last option that we can resort to is neither more nor less than to format the phone in order to eliminate all possible errors within EMUI. Within the System section in Settings we will go to Reset and finally on Reset phone.
We must bear in mind that this process will delete all the data from the phone, so we recommend making a backup copy on an external device beforehand so as not to lose sensitive data. After performing the reset, we can check through the Settings application if there is a new update that helps us solve the WiFi problems.
