The release of Call of Duty Mobile on Android and iOS has not been without controversy. During the first days of launch, the game was compatible with any console controller or generic controller that connected to the phone via Bluetooth. An example of this is the PS4 controller or the Xbox One controller. For reasons that are currently unknown, days after launch Activison decided to withdraw support for these drivers. Fortunately, the study has already confirmed that the compatibility of the controls with Call of Duty will be effective very soon, although at the moment this support is limited to a small part of the community. Due to the wait, we have made a compilation of several controllers to play CoD Mobile on Android and iOS.
Do you want to know the complete list of phones compatible with Call of Duty? Take a look at the article we just linked. In the event that your mobile is not on the list, you can take a look at our guide to install the CoD APK on unsupported mobiles.
Sony DualShock 4 and Microsoft Xbox One Controller
Probably the best controls that we can currently find on the market. We have, on the one hand, the mythical control of the Playstation 4, with touch controls, headphone jack input and full compatibility with both Call of Duty and any Android game.
In the case of the Activision title, the controller is natively supported, at least at the time of its release. This means that we will not need to drink from any third party application to make the device work in the war game.
If we talk about the Xbox One controller, the biggest advantage of this over the PS4 controller is its compatibility with Windows 10 computers. Both can be found today for the same price (around 56 euros in stores such as PC components or Amazon). Bottom line: there is no better controller than the options from Sony and Microsoft.
PowerLead iPEGA PG-9037
A controller very similar to the Xbox one both in shape and size that, like the latter, has two joysticks and several triggers to trigger shots and different associated actions.
The main advantage of the PowerLead controller is the tab that it includes in the upper part of the chassis to anchor a smartphone, a tab that can be hidden to play on other devices such as consoles or PC. It also has Bluetooth 3.0, which gives it an amplitude distance of 10 meters.
It is compatible with both Android and iOS, and its price currently stands at 26 euros in stores such as Amazon.
SteelSeries Stratus XL
One of the most popular controllers for Android and PC in general. Although its price is significantly higher than the previous option (about 60 euros at Amazon), the quality of the Stratus XL from SteelSeries has little or nothing to do with that of the aforementioned controller.
Leaving aside the design or the finishes of the controller, the main difference is that the SteelSeries option does not have its own battery, but rather two 2A batteries that ensure more than 40 hours of playtime. It is also compatible with today's most popular virtual reality glasses. HTC Vive, Oculus…
PDP Gamepad
One of the few certified Xbox licensed controllers, ensuring compatibility with Call of Duty Mobile. In fact, the PDP command is practically traced to that of the aforementioned console, with the difference that its price is half that of the latter: only 27 euros in stores such as PCcomponents.
In addition to having a micro USB connection, it has a cable to connect to the computer and a jack port for headphones. Unfortunately, the remote does not have wireless connections, which forces us to resort to an adapter.
PowerLead iPEGA PG-9083
If we opt for a control format on the sides of the phone, the iPEGA PG-9083 is ideal for large phones and tablets. The controller has a rail where we can attach any phone or tablet, so that the format adapts to the width of the device as if it were a Nintendo Switch.
To maximize compatibility with games, including CoD Mobile and Fortnite, the controller supports the ShootingPlus V3 app to independently map buttons. Unfortunately, it is only compatible with Android mobiles from Android 6.0 and iOS from iOS 11.
Its price? About 37 euros on Amazon.
PowerLead iPEGA PG-9120
Another command for Call of Duty by PowerLead that unlike the previous one, only has controls on one side, which makes it ideal for action and war games. By having a single button panel, we can control the direction of the camera through the screen, a screen that will be exposed at one end of the mobile.
Despite its size, the PowerLead gamepad is compatible with mobile devices up to 6.6 inches. It also requires the ShootingPlus V3 application to work in third-party games. Curiously, its price is cheaper than the rest of the controls for CoD, since it only costs 24 euros on Amazon.
MSI Force GC30
MSI also has a controller to play on Android, although its design does not differ much from that of Xbox. Perhaps the most remarkable thing about the controller is that it has an 8-hour battery life and a haptic motor to simulate vibrations when interacting with other elements of the game.
It does not have a headphone jack, but it is compatible with PC games through the integrated Bluetooth connection and the micro USB port located on the top of the chassis. The price of the command is currently 45 euros in stores like PCcomponentes.
Tempest K12
One of the controls with the best rating in PC components. Coincidentally, the design of the gamepad is very similar to what we can find in the MSI model: two joysticks and several action triggers. It also has a base where we can attach a small mobile or tablet.
As far as wireless technology is concerned, the remote has Bluetooth 2.0, which limits the amplitude of its signal to 7 meters. Compatible with iOS, Android, PC and Playstation, its price is only 23 euros, making it the cheapest controller to play Call of Duty.
