More than a hundred users have reported in recent months having received a call through a number that begins with 0044. If we look at the geographical location of the prefix 0044 (+0044 or +44), the origin of the call takes us no less than to the United Kingdom. The problem is that most users tend to report very similar numbers. Everything seems to point to the same person in charge, but who really is the person or body behind these calls? We see it below.
Call from 0044 from UK, who is it?
I have calls from this number in a row "," He called me this number repeatedly "," They called me from this number saying they were from Microsoft "… Many users have reported in various forums and social networks having received calls from an alleged technical service Microsoft official. Apparently, the person responsible for the call ensures that our computer has a "potentially dangerous" virus that can compromise the security of the system. All this with a rather unorganic Spanish.
What is behind these types of calls is a perfectly organized group of cybercriminals whose sole objective is to obtain personal and banking information fraudulently. The modus operandi of this type of group is similar in most cases: the supposed operator ensures that our computer is in danger and that he needs to install a program to gain control of the system and eliminate the virus manually. What it will do is obtain all the access codes to our accounts, as well as any information related to banking services (account numbers, debit cards, access to online banking…). This is something that Microsoft Spain has already confirmed through an official statement released to the media.
Among some of the numbers that we have been able to collect from different forums and social networks we find the following list:

I have fallen for the scam, what can I do?
What they recommend from the official sources is to immediately uninstall the program that we have installed on the computer. Then, we will restore all the keys of the services that we have accessed from the computer, for example, Twitter, Facebook or WhatsApp. Especially sensitive are the online banking portals (Imagin Bank, Banco Santander, ING Direct…), as well as the rest of financial services (TWYP, PayPal, N26…).
After resetting the online banking password, the next thing we will have to do is contact our bank to avoid any unauthorized charges that are made during the next 24 hours. The last
