The fourth generation of Google Pixel is here. The Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 are possibly the most controversial terminals of the year. Their leaks have already revealed absolutely everything about these two new models. The design is very similar to that of Apple in its new iPhone and some technical specifications have given much to talk about, especially since they are the same as those of a terminal launched at the beginning of 2019. Even so, the Pixels continue to stand out for their camera and software, and in these new models it was not going to be less. This is all you have to know about the new terminals of the American company.
One of the most interesting features of these new models is Motion Sense. We have already seen this feature in another device (although with another name), in the LG G8s ThinQ. Motion Sense allows us to control the terminal without touching the screen, through gestures with our palm. The Pixel 4 eliminate the notch to house a new cameras and sensors that, in addition to applying a 3D facial recognition similar to that of the iPhone, detects our palm and allows us to perform different actions. This is thanks to a depth of field sensor that is able to recognize the palm and perform actions depending on what we have done with the hand.
Motion Sense works in different applications, such as YouTube Music, Spotify, Google Photos, the watch app, phone and others that will be coming soon. Perhaps where we use the most is the first mentioned. In music applications we can move songs with a simple gesture to the right or left. The same in Google Photos to pass the images, or in the phone app to answer or reject a call. Since this technology is open to developers, even games can take advantage of this new feature. Google has shown the operation of Motion Sense in a video, and we can see how quickly the terminal responds to different gestures.
Now the Google Assistant is much faster, and at the moment only on the Google Pixel 4. We can ask the assistant for different actions and he will carry them out immediately. For example, open an application, send a message or search for something on the internet. The wizard interface also changes and now does not occupy part of the screen.

Google has always announced two Pixel models: one compact and one for those who want more screen. The main differences between the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are only in the screen and size. The Google Pixel 4 has a 5.7-inch panel, while the 4 XL goes up to 6.3 inches. So that both have a similar pixel density, the Pixel 4 has Full HD + resolution, and the XL model has QHD +. The same happens with autonomy. Both have a similar duration, but since the Pixel 4 has a more compact screen, and therefore consumes less resources, it has a somewhat smaller battery. And of course, the dimensions also change, being more restrained in the Pixel 4. Otherwise it is the same device.
The cameras of the new Pixel
Google only had enough one camera to achieve very good results, and not only in the high range. This time, a new sensor is added to the renewed 12 megapixel lens. The telephoto lens arrives with a resolution of 16 MP, which will allow us to take photographs with a 2x zoom. The main camera (and along with a good software processing) will be in charge of taking the photographs with portrait mode. This mode allows you to adjust the focus level from the gallery app itself, in edit mode.
One of the new features of these Pixels is double exposure. It lets us adjust the brightness and shadows separately before taking the picture. Kind of a pro mode, but a little more trim. The night mode is also improved with the possibility of taking photos brighter and in greater detail. A mode called 'Astrophotography' has even been added that allows us to photograph the stars and the moon. It also includes HDR + and 4K video recording.
Price and availability
The Google Pixel 4 starts at $ 800, about 720 euros to change. In Spain we still do not know the official price.
