The mid-range mobile market is in its moment. And this is thanks to the incursion of brands such as OnePlus or Google, with phones that raise the bar where other manufacturers have not done so since the popularization of this type of device. It is a fact, today it is possible to get a mobile with a good camera for little money. Proof of this are the recent launches of OnePlus, Realme or Xiaomi. On this occasion we have compiled several of the mid-range mobiles with the best camera in 2020 below 400 euros. Yes, you read that correctly, 400 euros.

Google Pixel 3a, the mid-range mobile with the best camera of 2020
So is. As we could see in our analysis of the terminal on tuexperto.com, the Google Pixel 3a is the mobile with the best camera on the market within its price range. And it is not for less, because it has the same camera as the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. To this must be added the processing that Google applies to the photos, with results closer to those of a professional camera than to those of a mobile phone.
If we stick to its technical characteristics, the device uses a single 12.2 megapixel camera, with 76º of vision, focal aperture f / 1.8 and 1.4 um pixels. Its front camera is composed of a single 8 megapixel sensor with 84º of vision, focal aperture f / 2.0 and 1.12 um pixels. While waiting for the Google Pixel 4a to become official, the Pixel 3a is the best camera we can find for less than 400 euros; specifically for 350 euros in the official Google store.
OnePlus Nord, the best option if we want photographic versatility
The latest launch of the Asian firm has come to proclaim itself as one of the phones with the best mid-range camera. As with the Pixel 3a, the terminal incorporates the same camera as its high-end counterpart, the OnePlus 8. Specifically, the OnePlus Nord has the Sony IMX 586 sensor, a 48-megapixel sensor with a focal aperture f / 1.75 and optical stabilization, something unusual in phones in this price range.
As for the rest of the sensors, the OnePlus Nord has three additional 8, 2 and 5 megapixel cameras with the usual lens configuration: wide angle, macro and depth sensor. On the front we find two other 32 and 8 megapixel cameras. While the first camera uses the Sony IMX 616 sensor to act as the main sensor, the second camera has a wide-angle lens. In principle, this sensor is intended to take group selfies without having to resort to sticks or cumbersome solutions.
Its price? 399 euros in the official OnePlus store. In some alternative stores we can get the phone for 350 euros or less.
Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite, a cheaper alternative to the OnePlus with a good camera
The Lite version of the Mi 10 series is one of the best options that we can currently find on the market, both for technical specifications and for its photographic quality. In fact, the device incorporates a pack of cameras very similar to those of the OnePlus Nord.
In summary, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite has four cameras of 48, 8, 2 and 2 megapixels. Its lens configuration is the same that we find in the OnePlus model: main sensor, wide angle lens, macro lens and depth sensor. Perhaps the biggest difference from the OnePlus Nord is found in the main sensor, which in this case is not the Sony IMX 586. Unfortunately, Xiaomi has not given any details about the manufacturer of this camera. What we can say is that it is inferior in qualitative terms.
And what about the front camera? In this case, the Mi 10 Lite uses a single 16-megapixel sensor with a focus aperture f / 2.5. In theory, this aperture helps us get sharper images during the day. By contrast, the results at night will decline, especially if the scene lacks light.
Its price? 350 euros in the official store, although we can find it cheaper in other electronics stores.
Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite, a mobile that earns integers with Google's Gcam
It is not the best mobile camera in the mid-range in 2020, but it is a worthy rival to the rest of the models that we have just described. And this is due, in large part, to the support of the community that develops Google Camera, the port of the official camera application of the Google Pixel. Currently there are many versions of this application compatible with the Mi Note 10 Lite. In fact, it is one of Xiaomi's mid-range phones with the best support.
Regarding the technical characteristics of its cameras, the terminal uses the same camera configuration as the Mi 10 Lite, with a quartet of 64, 8, 5 and 2 megapixel sensors. Beyond the 64 megapixel resolution, the interesting thing about the main camera is that it is based on the Sony IMX 686 sensor, the natural evolution of the IMX 586.
In practice, the most notable improvement of this sensor over the Sony IMX 586 comes from the detail of the images. On the other hand, the resolution of the sensor allows us to record video at 8K resolution. Unfortunately, the processor that integrates as standard is not capable of controlling such a resolution, so we will not be able to record scenes in 8K (yes in 4K).
The price? About 300 euros, although we can get one of these on Amazon for about 250 euros.
Realme X50, with an "Ultra Night" mode for night photography
The last option to consider comes from Realme with the Realme X50. Compared to the rest of terminals, the terminal does not differ much if we limit ourselves to the specifications of its cameras.
In summary, the terminal has four cameras of 48, 8, 2 and 2 megapixels with the classic lens configuration. Curiously, the latest camera uses a monochrome sensor to "improve the identification of bodies in Portrait Mode", according to the brand itself. Far from specifications, the device has an Ultra Night mode that allows you to obtain quite decent results in night photography. Do not forget that it has two additional sensors on the front, one of 16 megapixels and the other of 2 designed to improve the results of photographs in Portrait Mode.
As for the price, the Realme X50 can be purchased in the official store for about 350 euros. In Amazon its price is somewhat more content, as well as in other electronics stores.
