Motorola has just presented two new terminals that are added to its portfolio of mobile devices for 2019: the new Motorola E6 Play and Motorola G8 Plus, two well-differentiated terminals that are intended for two sectors of the population with different needs. Before going into the matter of what each of these two mobile phones offers, we go with their respective tables of specifications in detail.
Motorola Moto E6 Play and Motorola G8 Plus
Motorola Moto E6 Play, the youngest of the house
We began to talk to you about the most affordable terminal of the Motorola brand, the one in which you will have to look if your budget is around 100 euros or, simply, you do not want to spend a lot of money on a mobile device. The external appearance of this Motorola Moto E6 Play is shiny, thanks to its plastic finish, and you will have it available in black and blue colors. Its screen maintains both the lower and upper frames, reminiscent of designs from other times. We stayed at 5.5 inches so it can be an interesting option for those who do not want to have a too large terminal.
In the rest of the specifications we find what is expected in a terminal of this price: only a rear and front camera, a low-end processor such as the Mediatek MT6739, 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of space that can be increased thanks to MicroSD cards. In the connection section, little to highlight except the usual: WiFi, 4G, Bluetooth and GPS. With the connection we are also going to stay in the input range, with a microUSB at the bottom of the device. We also have a fingerprint reader on the screen, under the photographic module, a 3,000 mAh battery with a fast charge of 10W and pre-installed Android 9 Pie operating system. We could have expected Android 10 but, we repeat, for the price we are paying the version that appears when the mobile is turned on is the expected one.
This new entry-level device can be purchased from next December for a price of 110 euros in blue and black.
Motorola Moto G8 Plus, major words for the mid-range of the house
And we continue with the other mobile phone presented, the Motorola Moto G8 Plus. This is a mobile with a higher price and that will be able to satisfy the user whose budget is somewhat larger but who does not want to invest exorbitant amounts to have a good phone with an adequate value for money. This is, in detail, what the user will find when purchasing a Motorola Moto G8 Plus.
This device already adapts its design to the prevailing lines at the end of 2019: an infinite screen with an upper notch in the form of a drop of water, a design seen ad nauseam but no less effective. It can be purchased in bright red and blue. The panel is a 6.3-inch IPS LCD, it will have Full HD + resolution delivering 409 pixels per inch. We do not have protection against dust or water.
We enter the photography section. Here Motorola has thrown the rest by delivering a module composed of three lenses so that the mobile photography enthusiast spent hours and hours experimenting. This triple module consists of a main lens of no less than 48 megapixels and a large focal aperture of f / 1.7, a second wide-angle sensor (with 'video in action' recording mode) to encompass more image in aperture photography focal f / 2.2 and a third sensor that does not capture images as such but serves to measure space and make portrait mode look much more convincing. The portrait mode, if you still don't know what it is, is the image that shows an object or person in the foreground highlighted against a blurred background, to give a feeling of reflex quality.
We entered the guts of the device to find a classic of mid-range processors, the Snapdragon 665, a chip that incorporates mid-ranges such as the Redmi Note 8 or the Xiaomi Mi A3. This processor will guarantee the user to be able to carry out day-to-day tasks with total fluidity and normality, also thanks to the 4 GB of RAM that comes with it. Heavy games will surely give jerks or certain delays but other lighter ones can be played by the user without any problem. To store content we have two options, 64 and 128 GB, both devices with the possibility of inserting a microSD card.
We are going to finish with the connectivity section. In this model, and unlike the previous one, we will be able to have an NFC connection to make payments with the mobile, something that more and more users demand due to the convenience of the operation. In addition, we have WiFi with dual band, LTE 4G and Bluetooth 5. As for the battery, we will have a 4,000 mAh battery and Android 9 Pie system installed.
The price of this Motorola Moto G8 Plus will be 270 euros for the 64 GB version. We still don't know the price of the top version with 128 GB of storage.
