- This is how patents reveal the possible design of the new foldable iPhone
The big commercial brands have just started their race to see which of them presents the best mobile with the most advanced technology, this time, the flexible or folding screen. We already know the Samsung Galaxy Fold and the Huawei Mate X, the respective terminals with a flexible screen that were seen during the last edition of the Mobile World Congress. We recently learned that Xiaomi will also fight for the iron throne of the flexible mobile. Under a still unknown name, the president of Xiaomi Bin Lin assured that we would see him between now and June and for an unbeatable price, about 1000 euros in Europe. Where is Apple in the particular race of a new format whose success is still hanging by a thread?
What will Apple's foldable iPhone look like?
There are already rumors in the Internet lie claiming that those from Cupertino are at work to launch, sooner rather than later, their own terminal with a folding screen. A conceptual video has even been released in which they venture to describe, neither more nor less, what the new folding iPhone would look like in real image. You can watch the video below.
The interior screen of this new foldable iPhone would be a bit larger than the one corresponding to the exterior, a concept that we have already seen come true in the Samsung Galaxy Fold. Specifically, the exterior screen would have a size of 6.6 inches and the interior, that is, when the mobile is in the tablet position, it would reach 8.3 inches. In addition, and as some previous rumors reflect, this new folding iPhone would mount, on the rear panel, a triple square-mounted camera, with a design very similar to the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.
This is how patents reveal the possible design of the new foldable iPhone
In mid-February, the media were making room for a new patent, owned by Apple. In this patent, in addition to seeing the typical folding terminal that we have already seen presented, you could see a new triple screen model with up to two hinges. We do not know if this last terminal could be an iPad instead of a mobile, since the patent refers to " various types of electronic devices with a flexible part to allow it to fold ".
The new folding iPhone, according to the illustrations of the patents, could be a terminal that folds both outwards and inwards, having the interior screen as well as exterior and vice versa. According to rumors, this new flexible Apple would mount, how could it be otherwise, a screen with OLED technology.
For the screen, it is speculated that those of Cupertino could reach an agreement with the LG brand to produce the type of screen necessary for this design. If this is confirmed, the LG brand would be, in its own way, confirming that it would also be among its plans to launch a phone with a folding screen. In fact, the Korean brand already has flexible OLED displays of a considerable size, 77 inches, on the market.
Only the future will tell if, in the end, folding phones manage to find their niche in a market saturated with terminals that do not stand out, precisely, for their innovation in design.
