It happened during the last edition of Display Week that took place in New York City. A place where brands show professionals what happens in the world of screens and technology and where Samsung has wanted to show the latest of its inventions, a flexible 14-inch screen. Does this mean that the launch of Samsung's first flexible terminal is closer than ever?
Among all the products that the Korean brand has presented within Display Week, one stood out on its own merits. A 14-inch rollable OLED screen and 960 x 540 resolution with a 10R radius of curvature. Everything indicates that this product exhibition may indicate that the mass marketing of flexible screens will be closer than far in time.
Likewise, Samsung also showed the public present at Display Week a 4.94-inch transparent AMOLED panel, a resolution of 360 x 112 and a transparency level of 44%. For customers interested in the automotive field, the brand also presented an unbreakable 6.22-inch screen with 1440 x 2960 resolution and a plastic design that promises to be more durable for the automotive sector.
For the first time in its history, Samsung has introduced an OLED screen that also functions as a speaker. The prototype is called 'Sound on Display', it has 6.22 inches and a 1,440 x 2,960 resolution. And not only does it function as a loudspeaker but it could also double as a 'telephone receiver'. Among the other peculiar screens that the brand has presented is one with which you can work underwater, also with OLED technology and called 'Aqua-Force', of 5.77 inches in size and 1440 x 2960 resolution.
And as for the field of virtual reality, Samsung has also moved tab. Yesterday he presented in this same environment a special screen of no less than 1200 pixels per inch, with a size of 2.43 inches and ready to be carried in an update of his Samsung Gear VR Virtual Reality glasses. Without a doubt, an achievement to make the immersion in the games much deeper and more realistic.
