More and more mobiles with Android 8 installed as standard are landing on the market. This is the case of the recently announced Samsung Galaxy A8 or Huawei Mate 10. But, what happens to all the devices launched this year with Android 7? And those who have previous versions, can they upgrade to Oreo? High-end devices like the Samsung Galaxy S8 or Huawei P10 are expected to receive Android 8 during the first quarter of 2018. In fact, the beta program has already started.
Other slightly older models will also get it, although they will likely have to wait a little longer. You already know that when Google launches a new version of its system, it takes a while for manufacturers to start implementing it on their devices. And that's those who are lucky. There are other terminals that remain by the way and cannot update. If you want to be aware of which mobiles will enjoy Oreo and the approximate dates, pay attention. These are the latest news that we can give you about the status of the Android 8 update on mobile phones.
Android 8 on Samsung mobiles
As we announced a couple of days ago, the current Samsung flagships have just gotten the beta of Android 8 in Spain. This means that if you have a Samsung Galaxy S8 or Samsung Galaxy S8 + and you are enrolled in the Samsung beta program for Android, you will see the news in this version. Do not forget that it is a version still in testing, so there may be some important bugs. However, it is highly likely that the final version of Oreo will arrive on these models in January or February.2018. One of the great novelties of Android 8 for the Galaxy S8 is the new user interface Samsung Experience 9.0. Formerly known as Samsung TouchWiz, the new layer of personalization is going to offer a more personalized experience. In fact, we are going to enjoy more exclusive applications, functions or services.
Also, Samsung already has everything almost ready for the Note 8 to receive Android 8. Just a few days ago, a Reddit user reported the arrival of an internal OTA from Samsung with the Android 8 update. Although this update is not available for everyone suggests that the company is already developing Oreo for this model. What we do not know is whether it will launch the final version directly at the beginning of next year or it will give food before the testing phase.
