The market for virtual operators (also known as low-cost operators) has to make room for Lowi, a new telephone company that will disembark in Spain as of December 18. Lowi presents itself as a virtual operator based on simplicity, and that is why it will only arrive with a single rate: the "Yourself" rate, which will include 1 GigaByte of data and calls at zero cents per minute for six euros per month (VAT included).
Lowi will offer users this rate under the form of a contract without obligation of any kind. And unlike other low-cost companies, Lowi accumulates the unspent megabytes in each billing cycle, which means that the megabytes that we do not spend in one month will continue to be available for the following month (in addition to the gigabyte offered by the rate).
In the event that we exhaust the data of our rate, the browsing speed will be reduced to 32 kbps, and we will also have the possibility of acquiring additional data vouchers -also cumulative- of 200 MegaBytes for one euro. If we consult our comparison of the additional data vouchers in Spain we will see that this Lowi extra data voucher is the cheapest price of all the telephone companies in the country, closely followed by other operators such as Digi Mobil, in which case they offer 200 MegaBytes additional for two euros.
Calls to zero cents per minute of the "yourself" rate include all mobile and destinations operators landlines within 24 hours of the day but, yes, each will call have to pay a call set -up of 18.15 cents. One thing to keep in mind is that Lowi will work under Vodafone's 3G network.
But the presentation of this telephone company does not end there. Lowi will also make available to users five smartphones without fees, without permanence and completely free. The mobiles that can be purchased through Lowi are the following:
- iPhone 5C, for 400 euros.
- Sony Xperia E3, for 160 euros.
- Huawei Ascend G6, for 145 euros.
- Samsung Galaxy Trend Plus, for 100 euros.
- Alcatel OneTouch Pop C7, for 100 euros.
¿ And how you may hire rate "yourself" Lowi ? As of next Thursday, December 18, the official website of this operator (www.lowi.es) will begin to be operational, and through this page the procedures to register with the company can be carried out. But, in addition, as of December 29 it will also be possible to contract Lowi's rates at the MediaMarkt centers in Spain.
We will be attentive to the landing of this virtual operator in Spain. At first glance, and without knowing the quality of Lowi's services, this company equates to the cheapest of all prepaid rates with Internet in Spain, which today corresponds to Simyo with its prepaid rate that includes 1 GigaByte of data and calls at six cents a minute for six euros a month (closely followed by Tuenti Móvil with 1 GigaByte of data and calls at zero cents a minute for seven euros a month).
