A new certification has just revealed that the Japanese company Sony has been working on a new update that would go to Sony Xperia Z, Sony Xperia ZL and Sony Xperia ZR worldwide. This new update will respond to the name of 10.5.1.A.0.283, and although it is still early to predict what news it will bring with it, everything seems to point to the fact that it is the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update (that is, the version most recent of all the Android operating system), so the Sony Xperia Z, ZL andZR would soon receive the latest version of this operating system in a new file.
This new update will begin to be distributed worldwide from the next few weeks, and its landing will occur three months after these three phones (Sony Xperia Z, ZL and ZR) received the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update. The first to receive the update will be users who have purchased any of these three terminals in their free version, while users who have done so through a telephone company will have to wait some additional time.
Compared to Android 4.4.2, the Android 4.4.4 KitKat version does not imply any visual novelty in the operating system interface, and simply corresponds to a security patch that Google began to distribute to solve some bugs detected in the previous version.
Recall that the Sony Xperia Z, the Sony Xperia ZL and the Sony Xperia ZR are three smartphones that were officially presented at the beginning of 2013. All three were released with the Android operating system installed as standard in their version of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, so we are dealing with terminals that Sony has taken care to update to ensure that their owners can enjoy the most recent version of Android in every moment. Among the technical specifications of these terminals we find data such as a Qualcomm processor (model MDM9215M) of four cores running at 1.5 GHz clock speed (in the case of the Sony Xperia Z), a camera of 13 megapixels with autofocus and LED flash (in the case of the Sony Xperia ZL) or a memory RAM of two gigabytes (in the case of the Sony Xperia ZR).
On the other hand, this new update has been released a few days after Sony announced that it will no longer update the Sony Xperia T, TX and V, thus leaving them under the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean version for the rest of their useful life. At the moment we still do not know if the Sony Xperia SP will also become part of the list of "abandoned" phones in terms of updates or if, instead, it will end up receiving the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update. To know this information we must wait for a certification to appear that confirms or denies the possibility that the Sony Xperia SPbe updated to the latest version of Android.
