The Chinese manufacturer Haier, known in Spain mainly for its white and brown ranges of household appliances and televisions, will market two of its Android smartphones, HaierPhone W860 and HaierPhone W716, in our country. Thus, they become the first that the company sells directly in Spanish territory, and both reach very contained prices without the need to be linked to any operator, below 200 euros. Last September we told you that Haier was launching into the telephony sector with six terminals, and for the moment those chosen on this side of the Pyrenees are the simplest of all (W716) and one of the intermediate models (W860).
The HaierPhone W860 is a smartphone dual-SIM (which allows two phone numbers simultaneously) and has an IPS 5 - inch screen with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. With a total weight of 180 grams, it has a 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 quad-core processor and 512 megabytes of RAM memory, and in terms of storage it has 4 gigabytes of internal memory expandable through microSD cards of up to 32 gigabytes. For its part, the rear camera has a maximum resolution of 5 megapixels, while the front camera stays at 2 megapixelsand the total capacity of its battery amounts to 2,100 mAh. Its operating system is Android Jelly Bean 4.2 and costs 180 euros, being framed within the lower-middle range of smartphones.
For its part, the HaierPhone W716 is an entry-level terminal that has its biggest claim in its price (120 euros), in line with rather basic and essential characteristics. Like the W860, it has a tray for two simultaneous SIM cards, but in this case the processor is only dual-core (a Cortex-A7 at 1.3 gigahertz) and the screen format is more moderate, staying at 4 inches with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and type TFT LCD. RAM and internal storage are also identical, with amounts of 512 megabytes and 4 gigabytes., respectively. The microSD card slot is still present, allowing you to easily expand the device's ability to store files and applications. As for cameras is concerned, it dispenses with the front and rear offers a maximum resolution of 2 megapixels. It is sold with Android Jelly Bean 4.2 as standard, weighs 150 grams and incorporates a 1,400 mAh battery.
With the marketing of these two smartphones in Spain, Haier expands the catalog of products it offers in our country and in which it already had two tablets, framed under its Haier Pad range. Until now, the Spanish consumer has been associating this Chinese brand with its refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, dishwashers, televisions and air conditioning systems, mainly.
