Although it is practically drop-by-drop, little by little we are learning more information about Lumia Denim, which will become the next update of the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system. As revealed from the account of Facebook from Microsoft in Finland, the Lumia Denim update will also come next year 2015 smartphones today operate under the version of Lumia Cyan.
This confirmation is especially important for users who own a smartphone from the Lumia range other than the Nokia Lumia 830, Lumia 930, Lumia 1520 and Lumia Icon, which have been the only ones officially confirmed to receive news from Lumia Camera 5 with the Lumia Denim update. The rest of the smartphones in the Lumia range that are currently running Lumia Cyan will also receive the Lumia Denim update, although there is little chance that those updates will incorporate the new camera features of Lumia Camera 5 (4K recording, new HDR modes, etc.), as we are talking about high-end mobile-oriented features.
In short, the distribution of the Lumia Denim update should look like this:
- The first to enjoy this update are the owners of the new Microsoft Lumia 535, Nokia Lumia 730, Nokia Lumia 735 and Nokia Lumia 830, since we are talking about smartphones that incorporate Lumia Denim installed as standard.
- Afterwards, the next to receive the Lumia Denim update will be the owners of the Nokia Lumia 930 and Nokia Lumia 1520. This update should begin to be distributed during this same month of December or, at the latest, during the months of January - February of the next year 2015.
- From here, the rest of the phones in the Lumia range will receive the Lumia Denim update in a phased manner during next year 2015. In any case, the first to be updated will be free mobiles, while terminals purchased from an operator will be the last to receive these same updates.
And the novelties of the Lumia Denim update, summarized in a few words, will be the following: bug fixes, improvements in Bluetooth sound reproduction, new alphabetical order in the order of the Settings menu settings, new way of organizing folders on the Home screen and other small news (in addition to the news of Lumia Camera 5, of course).
On the other hand, it is also important to clarify the reason why some users have been surprised that their Nokia Lumia is already updated to the Lumia Denim version. Apparently, these are erroneous updates that for some reason have reached some smartphones around the world. These updates do not incorporate any of the Lumia Denim news, and users who have already received them should continue to wait for the official distribution of this version.
