The US company Microsoft will begin to distribute a new operating system update for the Nokia Lumia 925 and Nokia Lumia 1020 worldwide in the coming weeks. This new update will be aimed at solving the performance problems that some owners of these two phones found after downloading and installing the Windows Phone 8.1 update on their terminals. These problems were mainly translated into crashes of the operating system and spontaneous reboots of the mobile.
The confirmation of this update did not come from a Microsoft press release, but rather an engineer from the company published a message stating that “I am proud to confirm that we have developed a solution that is pending verification for begin to be distributed soon with the next operating system update ", as confirmed by the American blog WindowsCentral .
Assuming which operating system update this engineer refers to, it is most likely that we are talking about an update that will only go to the Nokia Lumia 925 and the Nokia Lumia 1020 worldwide. Therefore, it is to be assumed that this update has little or nothing to do with the Windows Phone 8.1.1 update that should theoretically begin to reach users in the coming weeks.
The performance issues reported by some Nokia Lumia 925 and Nokia Lumia 1020 owners seem to seriously affect the experience of using the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system. Apparently, the problems reach such a point that users encounter random crashes and hangs of the phone, in such a way that they have no choice but to restart it (having to even perform a forced restart) thus losing the information they at that time they were driving. These problems only appear with the Windows Phone 8.1 update, since apparently the previous version of Windows Phone 8 did not suffer from these failures.
The Nokia Lumia 925 and Nokia Lumia 1020 are two relatively smartphones like -as far as features are concerned - in fact, were presented almost simultaneously (in May and July of the year 2013, respectively). This may be the main reason why both phones seem to suffer from practically identical problems after the Windows Phone 8.1 update.
The most comprehensive of the two, the Lumia 1020, some incorporating technical specifications formed by a screen of 4.5 inches with 1.280 x 768 pixel resolution, a processor Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus (model MSM8960) of dual core with 1.5 GHz clock speed a memory RAM of 2 gigabytes, 32 gigabytes of internal memory, a main chamber 41 megapixels and a battery with 2,000 mAh.
