Realme has come into our lives to make life a little more complicated for Xiaomi. Now that the Chinese brand is raising prices to its latest high-end ranges such as the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 (the pro version reaches 650 euros), Realme arrives with attractive prices to claim its space on the throne of the mid-range. Its mid-range, released in September 2019, has really interesting specifications: FullHD + screen with a notch in the shape of a drop of water, Snapdragon 730G with 8 GB of ram and 128 GB of storage, four rear cameras and a 4,000 mAh battery with a very fast charge of 30W. And its price is currently around 280 euros in stores like Amazon.
If you already have it, or are thinking of buying it, here we are going to leave you with a series of tricks with which you can get the most out of your Realme X2. Settings that make it easier to use on a day-to-day basis and help you enjoy it more.
Realme X2: tricks you should not miss
Hide navigation buttons and use gestures
To make the most of the 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen of this mobile, nothing better than hiding the lower navigation icons and getting used to using gestures. This is how you should do it.
- You enter the phone settings.
- Next, 'Convenience tools'
- 'Navigation buttons'
- 'Plus'
- ' Vertical swipe gestures '
- In this mode, if we slide from the center up, we will go to the home screen. If we slide from the sides, we will go back. If we swipe from the beginning and keep our finger on the screen, we will open multitasking.
- We can also adjust the settings so that the 'back' movement is done from the sides and not from below. To do this, we will click on 'Swipe gestures from both sides' on the 'Navigation buttons' screen.
Opening the camera with the screen off
There are times when we see something and we need to take a photo of it. And urgently. From the moment we see it, we unlock the screen, the fingerprint does not match, we try again, the camera opens and we focus and shoot, our lens has disappeared. Therefore, we are going to teach you how to take a photo by opening the camera by drawing an 'O' from the off screen. For it:
- We enter 'Convenience tools'
- 'Gestures and movements'
- ' Gestures with the screen off '
- 'Draw an O to open the camera
- Now, with the screen off, draw a circle. The chamber will open immediately.
There are more similar settings on this screen, check them out because they are worth it.
Choose between drawer mode and standard mode
As with other customization layers, in ColorOS we can choose between having all the applications out, in the way of the iPhone, or having them in a drawer. To do this we doing the next.
- We enter the phone settings
- We enter 'Home screen and wallpaper'
- 'Home screen mode '
- Here you can choose between standard mode (all applications outside) or drawer mode (keep them inside, in an app drawer).
Activate dark mode
In order to have the dark mode in our Realme X2 we will proceed as follows.
- We enter the terminal settings
- We go all the way down, until we find the ' Realme Lab ' section
- Inside, we only have one option, 'Dark Mode'.
- We enter and click on 'Activate now'
All applications, whether they support dark mode or not, will look like this. And there are some that are not well optimized. In ' Dark mode for third-party applications ' I advise you to disable those that you see that do not work correctly, such as WhatsApp.
Prevent any app from closing in multitasking
Some battery managers force close apps that remain running in the background. They do this to save battery life. But there are applications that need to stay in the background, such as messaging, music or bluetooth applications. To prevent them from closing automatically, we are going to do the following.
- We open multitasking.
- We go to the application that we want to block and never close again.
- We look at the three-striped menu at the top and enter it
- Click on 'Block' and that's it
Activate and use split screen
If you look closely at the previous screenshot you will see an option apart from 'Lock', 'Split screen'. This serves to be able to use two applications at the same time and thus increase our productivity. For example, on one screen we have a mathematical operation and on the other the calculator to do the math. The uses are multiple.
- To do it, we just have to go to the multitasking, three-striped menu and 'Split screen'
- Move up the green line until you see correctly the preview of the application that will go at the bottom
- We press it and that's it.
By default, if we make an upward movement with three fingers at the same time, the 'Split screen' mode will be activated.
Draw on a screenshot
Many times we take a screenshot to send it to a friend but we want them to focus on a specific point. For that, nothing better than being able to dial the service area from our own phone without having to download any third party application. We will do it as follows.
- We take a screenshot
- Click on 'Edit'
- A series of icons will appear at the bottom
- We will click on ' Bookmark '
- We will paint over the area
- This little trick is not accompanied by images because the device does not allow captures of the editing section of the captures themselves.
Activate the smart display
The smart screen mode allows the user to access different applications and actions, from the screen they are on, with a gesture from left to right from one side of the screen. Through this small menu we can enter 'WhatsApp', 'YouTube', take a screenshot, enter the camera and even add applications to taste.
- To do this, we are going to enter 'Settings'
- 'Convenience tools'
- ' Smart sidebar '
- Here we will choose if we only want it when we handle the mobile horizontally or vertically and horizontally.
